Memories really help

image

Cherish all those moments.
Lock those memories in your mind.
For they’ve been created by you, with you, for you.
When things seem bad, look back and realize they weren’t always hard, and you’ll come out of whatever parenting problem you’re experiencing, a better parent, and that things WILL get better.

OK, so mine aren’t that awful, but there are days…..
Have a giggle Peeps! 😁

But I Smile Anyway...

Rats!!!

In my garden!!!
Well, a dead one, anyway…
(Sorry, there might be pictures you don’t like here…)

image

Lil Man saw the photo and thought it looked cute… Dead, but cute…
But the circle of life, as it is, didn’t leave the rat there…

image

Quite a large raven came by, and after stalking for a while, making sure he wasn’t encroaching on anyone else’s territory, had a feast… While we were eating breakfast… Lovely!
Lil Man thought it was like watching the Discovery Channel live!
Gory, I know, but its an education in itself… This is how creatures in the wild survive…

image

And Sonu Singh watched on… He couldn’t see the rat, but watched the bird for ages… Maybe he was thinking, “oooh! If I was outside, I’d have a fun game of chase!”
Then, raven flew away, leaving a pile of entrails and a rat shell…
I couldn’t leave it for the kids to see, so armed with a shovel, I carefully carried the remains to one side, and disposed of them, as best I could…
(Gory pic alert!)

Poor rat, but seriously, what were you doing in my garden??? I sure hope there isn’t a colony of you somewhere nearby!

The Circus

The circus is in town this week…

What a great way to entertain the kids… And expensive! ÂŁ41 for 3 tickets, but we did go ring side… And another ÂŁ8.50 for candy floss, popcorn and drinks!

I’ve always loved the circus…
I even saw many before they banned the animals.
I recall seeing the Moscow State Circus when they traveled to the UK, in Birmingham, and being in awe! Then I had the opportunity to see it again in its actual home, in Moscow, Russia!
This was where I saw the effects of a circus on some of their animals, and I wholeheartedly agreed with the ban.
There was a beautiful , glossy furred black bear doing tricks, and another, almost more eaten one that was alongside it. He had clumps of missing, and looked so tired. If he missed a trick, he got whipped… It cut through my heart seeing them treat that poor animal so… Whereas the other one was obviously flavour of the month, fed well, treated like a king.
Anyway, back to today!

We saw Santus Sugars… Hula hooping!

And this woman had 10 hoops!

I can just about manage one!!!

A circus is not complete without a clown!

wpid-20150417_173649.jpg

And I love Ariel acts!!

wpid-2015-04-17_18.09.53.jpg
And that was just the first half!!!

After an obligatory picture with the novelty act… A Transformer… Hey they gotta do something while not filming!

There were more Ariel acts

wpid-2015-04-17_19.27.48.jpg

And motor bikes, a human slinky, as well as the Transformer!

wpid-2015-04-17_19.32.29.jpg

A great experience, but its still different to when I was young… the clowns and comedy act, though they got the kids laughing, not the same level of slapstick as before… and I know the animals had it hard, but most of the time they were damn cute and gorgeous… I know someone will think I’m awful for saying that, but as a kid, what was I to know???

It was a lovely, if expensive evening, and now we’re home ready for pizza! And an earlyish night as we have the Vaisakhi Parade to attend tomorrow!

Did you like the circus when you were younger? Or do you still go, like me? (But then you all know I’m a big kid still!)
