The dawn of summer
A time for optimism
The sun WILL come out

Cheers of joy erupt
The birth of a new baby
Happiness abounds
A time for celebrations
New life, new love, a new hope

TJ’s Household Haiku – Dry Cactus

Tj’s prompt today… An image of a cactus, or the word dry

I tried to use both…

The ground, parched and dry
Yet still a source of beauty
Where cacti can thrive

I found it quite hard to think up something for this one, but here goes!

A family
There once were three
Now there’s nothing left

A calamity
Took their dignity
And no one has confessed

A community
presumably
Are now feeling bereft

Futility
They cannot see
This happen to the rest

Poetic RITUals – Available To Buy NOW!

PR 3D 01After all this time, finally, you can buy/download a copy of my new Poetry Book, Poetic RITUals, on Amazon UK, Amazon.Com, Amazon – India, Amazon – Australia, Amazon – Canada. The paperback edition is available via Amazon UK and Amazon.com, and from the European sites at the moment, the rest have the Kindle version available.

The Kindle version is available for pre-order, to be released on 29th June 2016, as that is my son’s birthday, so if you would rather get the digital copy, there is a little wait.

But if you are bursting with excitement, and NEED to get a copy in your hands click the above Amazon UK or Amazon.com links.

Poetic RITUals, my first poetry book, is filled with a variety of verse, inspired by family, life, love and laughs.

Please take a dip, and enjoy my rhymes.

If you do, please be sure to leave an Amazon review!

I’m dying to know what you all think!

I got the proof copy in my hand today… it feels surreal!

Editing… It’s not just books you know!

After spending an age and a half scrupulously combing through the online paperback review checker for my poetry book (due for release soon!) and then doing the same for the Kindle edition, submitting for reviews, finding tiny errors then correcting and resubmitting, oh about a thousand times (slight exaggeration😋), I thought I would be done editing for a while at least.

But no…. That appears not to be the case!

Now I’m also in the throes of writing my first ever end of year reports!

Oh what joy! 😐

This is one of the hardest tasks I have had to do! Trying to be positive, where maybe you only have negative things in your mind. I’m becoming a real Spin Doctor here (another string to my bow?😜)

The first editions are almost complete, I think I have 6 more to go, then we sit, my editor (co-teacher) and I, reading each other’s takes and politely trying to change things we don’t necessarily agree with! She is doing one half, I am doing the other, the we get to be each others editors!

It won’t end there.. The cover is not the issue, it’s the data entry that then has to be synced with the reports… Waaaaay too technological!!!!

Oh, and hopefully I’ll get my proof copy today of my actual book! Admittedly I ordered it when I did the first edit check, thinking all was perfect, then I found a few school girl, and formatting errors. Those have been sorted and resubmitted, but once I have a physical copy in my hand, I will press that PUBLISH button, and don’t worry, you’ll definitely hear about it!!!!
