So, I love to take photos…
By no means am I a professional
And Hugh has set a challenge
That could be like a confessional
This week, present your breakfast
And post for all to see
Whether you sup hair of the dog
Or a lovely cup of tea
Full English, continental,
Cereal or toast
Or perhaps last night’s pizza
Is what you love the most!
He’ll be busy checking our photos
Of toast dripping with jam
And if he thinks it’s worthy
You might get featured on Instagram!

A cup of tea, with fresh strawberries and mango, granola with yoghurt and a mango puree!

Food Friday – See (sea) Food And Eat It!

Do you like prawns? I’m not a seafood fan, but hubby dearest loves it, so I try to make things he likes, but I won’t eat!
This one, such an easy dish!
Heat some butter in a pan, and add some garlic. Cook until it starts to brown. Then add some butterfly cut king prawns… Shelled thank you, I can’t cope with that shelling business!
Next a bit of salt n pepper seasoning and some dried chilli flakes to taste.
Add some chopped flat leaf parsley and a squirt of lemon juice, and it’s done!
Just like that!
He likes it served with a bit of toast!

I’m not one to waste food, and what better way to use up food than a good old stir fry!!!
A lil sesame oil, then I chucked the broccoli, asparagus, green beans and mushrooms into a hot wok.
Seasoned with the above Jamie Oliver Sechuan pepper, and Himalayan salt. Then I added rice noodles and soya sauce, and voila!

A healthy green stir fry!!!

If your kids are any thing like mine, then lumps and bumps of veggies in anything , get left on the plate at the end of a meal!
Well, for a change, the above dish went down a treat!
I blitzed onion, mushrooms, tomatoes and peppers in a blender, and added to some cooked, minced lamb. A little garlic , seasoning, and mixed herbs and voila! A secret veggie bolognaise sauce!
Mixed with pasta and topped with cheese…
Yum!
( now to work out how to disguise mince… Lil Princess ate it all and left some lumps of mince this time! “It was yummy, mummy,” she said, “but I left the brown bits!”)

Needed dinner, the chicken, which was in date, was off… What to do…?
I threw a little onion, garlic, some chopped continental meats from a selection pack, tinned tomatoes, mixed herbs, mushroom n salt, into a pan… Added spaghetti, and here’s a lovely dinner, sprinkled with cheese, mmmmm!
Then as I was picking up the pan to drain the pasta, one handle seems to have been over the flame more, and was red hot… Ouch!
Stupid over here puts pan down, then … Picks the damn thing up AGAIN! Same sorry hand!!!
