My qestions for you:

  1. What was the most happy experience ever?  Oh my there are so many, it is hard to choose just one!  My wedding day, finding out we were pregnant after so many years of trying, the birth of our children, my brother’s wedding, becoming an aunty… I can’t choose!!!
  2. What was the most beautiful gift you have ever gotten? That middle of the night moment, when I was handed the biggest gift, our baby boy, a true gift from heaven, when we thought we would never be parents… and equally, the moment I was able to hold my baby girl… a true princess, and precious in every way.
  3. What was the most beautiful gift you have ever given? Oh my, this is all about family for me! The most beautiful gift I could ever have given would be my children, to my husband! My son was a great gift, born on my mother’s birthday, and my daughter was equally a fantastic present, born on my father in law’s birthday!

Being Creatively Modest!

It’s been another busy day in the teaching and parenting life of Ritu, and I came home to another lovely surprise from my Moon Blog Twin Sister,  Erika, who has nominated me for the Creative Blogger Award! Here Are The Rules:

Nominate blogs and notify the nominees.
Post the link of the blog that nominated you.
Share five random facts about yourself.

Facts…

  1. I am currently nursing a still sprained ankle, a iron burn on my arm, and a grazed toe… total clumsy clutz, me!
  2. This time 2 years ago I managed to slice my toe on the bottom of a chair at school, walked around with a shoe that became a pool of blood, got it patched up, fainted, ended up at the hospital, fainted again, and now have a lovely scar for the memory! my BP dropped to 74/40…. But it’s ok, Peeps! I am ok now!
  3. I used to visit the local A & E regularly as I used to walk into things on a weekly basis, and my poor little toes… they have really taken a beating from my awful co-ordination!
  4. My first aid box has slowly turned into a large drawer full of plasters, bandages, antiseptic creams, as I am no the only clutz in the family… I passed the gene on to Lil Princess! At least she hasn’t had any hospital visits…yet!
  5. I once gave myself a black eye, by misjudging where the sink was in our bathroom! I was getting up, after picking something up from the floor, and as I came up, nose made contact with sink edge… OUCH! I looked great! LOL!

Nominees…

This award, and nominations, I dedicate to my online blog family!

And thanks again to my darling sister Erika!!!! ❤

But I Smile Anyway...

The Versatile Blogger Award

Awoke to another nomination!

Thank you so much to Tony Burgess for my nomination this time! I am so grateful! Please check out Tony’s great blog too!!

The Versatile Blogger Award rules:
1. Thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy.
2. Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy — if you can figure out how to do it.
3. Next, select blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
4. Nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award — you might include a link back to the post on your site announcing their nomination.

5. Finally, tell the person who nominated you, seven facts about you

I’ll start with my 7 facts… The hardest thing to think of, as I seem to have done a fair few!!

  1. I have a problem with being touched on my neck…. I think it stems back to when I was born with the cord wrapped around it, 3 times!
  2. I have an unhealthy obsession with stationery!
  3. I love to dress up!…. But I hate to dress up…. If that makes sense! On a normal day, makeup does not touch my skin, but if there is an occasion, I love playing with the colours on my face!
  4. I used to help some of my cousins get ready for their wedding days painting their bindis on their foreheads. And helping with hair. One cousin had short fine hair, so we bulked it up using…. A pair of (new) socks!! Yes, socks! Imagine her hubby’s shock to see her letting her hair down, on their wedding night, and seeing a sock or two roll out!!
  5. I love to tell stories. A captive audience of children is all I need, and recently, I have been asked, at school, to read to the whole of the lower school, around 120 children! It’s exhilarating!
  6. My daughter is a mini me, and my son is a mini his daddy!
  7. I have now succumbed, and have to grudgingly say that yes, I do like One Direction songs, after being forced to listen to them for the last few weeks by Lil Princess!

And my nominees!

The Bespectacled Mother
Waffle Me This
London Kind And Funny
The Daydreamer
Ujima Magazine

Please don’t feel obliged to accept, but if you do, let me know, so I can read your facts too!

Perfect Imperfections

I’m not perfect but
My perfect imperfections
Make me pretty close
Ritu 2015

I’ve been in bed all day. Worrying about something that is out of my hands, but the culmination of which could change my life considerably.

It involves an acceptance, or in essence, a rejection.

But it occurred to me that it’s really up to me how I take whatever the outcome.

If it is a positive, then really, my tension should go away, and I should be able to sleep peacefully at night, happy in the knowledge that I was the right person, the perfect person.

But if it ends in rejection, does that mean that I am not good enough? Not perfect?

Well the above haiku I penned is what I decided. No matter what the decision, for my faults, or imperfections which we all have, I’m perfect for me.

I’m perfect in someone’s eyes.

Maybe not everybody’s but I don’t care!

There may be things about me that might not tick everyone’s boxes, but my differences are what make me the person I am, and the way I am, brings much, to many.

So whatever the outcome, I will look in the bright side. I won’t take it as a kick in the teeth if it is not the outcome I wanted, but that I’m standing at the bottom of another learning curve which I will overcome too, and that with a smile on my face!

And if I get the acceptance I crave, then I’ll probably berate myself for not having more faith in myself, but again, it’ll be with a smile!

Be positive Peeps, it’s the best way to be!

If you’re not, you’ll end up like me today, in bed with a sore head, something I do NOT wish to repeat!

My glass is always half full! Never half empty…

Oops I did it again! – The Daydreamer Award

Awarded 8/3/15

Awarded 8/3/15

Crazy but true! I have been nominated for another award this week, this time by Edwina over at Edwina’s Episodes. This is an award for blogs that are inspiring, creative or funny. I hadn’t even heard of this one before, so wow! Thank you!

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the person who gave you the award.

2. Complete the challenge they set you.

3. Select a blog or blogs that you want to give the award to. (The amount of blogs you select is unlimited!)

4. Tell them about it and set them a challenge.

(Please include the rules in your post).

My challenge is to describe my dream destination….

Wow! That is actually quite a hard one!  I would love to go somewhere hot, first and foremost!  Where there is a pale golden, sandy beach, beautiful blue skies and crystal clear water. Drinks on tap, food arriving at a click of my fingers, brought to me by a waiter who is at my beck and call al the time! No one constantly calling  “Mummy!”…. Peace for a short while at least…. Oh and of course, the other amazing quality of this dream destination would be that on arrival, the muffin top I have acquired will mystically disappear, and I will appear svelte and amazing, in my swim suit… oh and my hair wouldn’t frizz!!!!

But that is a dream indeed….!

I would love to go and explore Australia! I have family there, but we have never had a chance to go visit them.  I would love dearly to tale 6 months or a year out, and visit them, but then actually travel around, and see the whole country!

Now, here are the blogs I would like to nominate for this award…

1) Susieshy45

2) Blog of a Mad Black Woman

3) I Refuse To Follow Your Blog

4) Penning My Voice

5) Blue Chick Ninja

Your challenge is to describe your dream dinner party, complete with your dream dinner guests!
