Day 7 #Loveuary❤ My Furbaby

loveuary

I can’t write about love for my family and miss out this one key member… Sonu Singh.

Sonu Singh is our beautiful 3-year-old kitty. If you had asked me a few years back, whether I would ever have a pet, I would have laughed in your face!

Don’t get me wrong, I do love animals, but our life didn’t feel like the sort of life where an animal, apart from fish, would ever fit in.

Hubby Dearest would have loved a dog, but, though I don’t mind them, I have a childhood fear of them which I haven’t quite totally got over. So he started looking at kittens, as he knew I liked cats.

I was packed off to a Parents evening, with my children as he was ‘going out’ and I arrived back to find this ginger fluffball in a box! Aside from the fact we had NOTHING for a kitten in the house, he quickly filled our hearts with joy, and Sonu Singh is firmly part of this family.

I often find myself talking to him, having random conversations. And he does the same to us! He’s an indoor cat so he thinks he’s human anyway!

And here is a little poem I wrote for him a couple of years ago. It was actually for World Poetry Day in 2015. I do love my kitty 😻

He looks at me
With soulful eyes
They make him seem
So terribly wise
A look that takes
Your breath away
And eyes that seem
To want to say
Why can’t I eat
What you have got?
Why can’t I sleep
Upon the cot?
When can I
Go out to play?
Will you leave me
Alone today?
My darling boy
Why can’t you see
You’re wholly part
Of this family!
You might be furry
And we’re not
But love for you,
There is a lot.

Sonu Singh’s Festive Week

It’s been a while since you saw our cute kitty, so here a few photos of him in action the past few days.

We’ve chilled together.

He has been playing with his tickle stick cat wand, and jumping oh so high too!

Obviously, all that jumping and licking of feathers is tough work, so there has been some stretching happening…

He’s got so long!

We also had some more encounters with Ginger, the next door neighbour’s cat, and Sonu Singh actually met him, face to face, with no glass in between!

There was a hiss, from Sonu, then he decided he’d prefer to continue this relationship through a pane of glass!

I, on the other hand, had great fun, finally getting close enough to Ginger to actually stroke him! He is obviously not used to a lot of physical contact, shivering, and jerking away, but at the same time, trying to lean in for a stroke!

And I even got a video of him having a roll around!

Currently, Sonu Singh is miaowing at the kitchen door, hoping for more food!

Bless him!

More of him in the new year Peeps!

Happy Miaow Year from Sonu Singh!

Yup, this is just the most comfortable place ever! Sonu Singh Strikes Again!

Another from the archives but you know you need a Sonu Singh fix!

Cats, funny things they are…

Take the lovely Sonu Singh. Since he was a new kitty in our family, he’s found the strangest places to chill/fall asleep.  I see articles and posts about other cats and their ‘beds’ of choice so thought I’d put one together of this crazy cat too!

Advent Calendar Fun!

It is December.

That means Advent Calendars for all!

Now I have been good this year, not getting one for myself, what with my diet etc! There will be plenty of naughty food available around the place without extra temptations!

I got the kids theirs, but this year I failed to get Sonu Singh his one (Bad mummy!) What with one thing and another I haven’t been able to find one, or get to the shop where I knew I would find it.

Anyway,  on the first of December, I bust out the calendars and the kids were suitable excited… as was the cat!

Who knew that my 2 year old fur baby would have enough intelligence to remember that he had one, as well as the big two-legged kids, last year, and the year before!

I felt soooo bad! What an awful mummy I was!

So at 7.30am, you would have found me desperately ringing a couple of shops to see whether they still had Cat Advent Calendars available!

Located, we went that evening after school to fetch it.

Phew!

Here you go Sonu Singh! Mummy won’t forget next time!
