#SoCS Oct. 22/16 – ‘ho’

Linda’s prompt this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “ho.” Find a word with the two letters–“ho”–in that order, and use it in your post. Enjoy!

Home is where the heart is, that is what they say.

Home is where hope lives.

If hope is not a resident in your home, then your home is not that, it is merely a house.

Home is a sanctuary, where you feel secure.

A place where people show their belief in you.

Well, these are just my thoughts… what I feel a true home should be.

Do you agree?

Violet sky #writephoto

Sue’s photo prompt this week.

dark-dawn

Two little haiku came to mind, both centred around that little rhyme,

“Red sky at night, shepherds delight,
Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning!”

An age-old warning
Sky delivers a message
Be cautious out there

When beauty beckons
Budding photographers come
Risking wet cameras

RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #119 Hunter&Moon

Can’t believe I got to Thursday without getting this post done!

I had written my haiku but kept on leaving the paper at work!

Anyway, here is my entry for Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge.

wp-1470658176431.pngThe prompts words are

Hunter & Moon

Howling at the moon
Hunter readying himself
A night of bloodshed

RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #117 Lark&Rush

Ron’s Haiku Challenge prompt this week…

wp-1470658176431.png

Lark & Rush

Having a good time
With those you want to be with
Time tends to fly by

And

Flying in a rush
The mummy lark gathers food
For her chirping chicks

Apologies… I believe I am coming down with a cold… my inspiration was a little flat today!

WRITESPIRATION #95 KALEIDOSCOPES

Sacha’s back, after a little #Writespiration hiatus, with another cool prompt!

kaleidoscope

Write about a Kaleidoscope – maybe its a kaleidoscopic fantasy world, or a memory, a maze or perhaps a toy. Let your mind wander and see where it takes you. Entries short this week – under 100 words, deadline 9th October. Post entries in the comments or use a pingback.

So, here is my entry!

“Quick Cap’n! They be gaining on us!”

Captain John Bird hurriedly fished his spyglass out of his pocket to see what this vessel was that chasing them.

“It looks like they’re preparing the cannon, and, that be a pirate flag on their mast!”

Focussing the glass, Captain Bird looked out, but all he could see was a rainbow of colours, no ship.

“Damn this thing!” he thought, pulling his handkerchief out to clean the lens.

It was only then that he realised, in the hurry to board his ship, he’d picked up his son’s kaleidoscope instead of his spyglass…

Thank you and Good night!
