We Won! He Won! They Won!

Well, the Cricket Cup Final was a huge success for Lil Man and his team!

They batted first, and scored some good runs, then when it came to bowling and fielding, they did fantastically!

So now the Under 11’s team are now the Medway League Cup winners! Go Boys!

So proud!

Here are a few shots of the team, and my very proud Lil Man!

Friday Feelings

Oh yes it’s Friday!!!!

I’m so happy, my Lil Man is back!

He had a fantastic residential trip, and didn’t miss home at all!

In a good way though, he said!

His birthday was great with his friends waking him up with choruses of Happy Birthday, and him getting chosen to do lots of things first, as the Birthday Boy!

And so we awake to a Friday full of new things.

He is spending a day, a taster day, at his new secondary school.

I’m more nervous about this, than I was about him being away for 4 days!

But again, he is relaxed, chilled, and looking forward to a new adventure!

I have an adventure of my own too… We’ve done the class trip, I’ve written my first ever end of year reports, and now we will be getting to know our new students. The first half are coming to nursery to visit today.

Will they be like my first ever class, a true baptism of fire?? Or will next academic year be a year of smooth sailing?

Who knows, but I’ll be finding out. We also have home visits starting soon, so we get a good idea of what the children are like!

Then to top the day off, Lil Man has another cricket match!

I can’t wait for the weekend!!!!

Have a wonderful Friday Peeps!!

Bittersweet…

… But more sweet!

Today we celebrate the birthdays of my precious Lil Man, turning 11 today, and my darling Mum’s birthday too!

Mum, 11 years ago, I gave you a gift, I could be ever better… Your first grandchild. All I can give you now are a multitude of thanks. For being my mum, for making me, for being there all the time, my rock, loving me no matter what…

We wish you a most wonderful birthday today, and hope to see you soon to celebrate properly 😍🎂🎁

Lil Man, 11 years ago, you finally popped out, and into our world. A screaming ball of love and fun. So wanted were you, our first born, that when you were placed on my chest, we didn’t even think to ask whether you were boy or girl. The years of turmoil and heartache were worth it.

You have grown into a young man I am so proud of, coping with difficulties with gumption, a superstar in your chosen sporting activities, a champion dhol player, and an all round wonderful boy.

Today is bittersweet because as I wish you happy birthday, you’re not here with us. Instead you are celebrating your birthday away, with your school friends. I know you will be having fun, but know that we miss you and love you so much!

When you are back, you will have grown even more, in so many ways. A new maturity, after being away, and another year under your belt. Who cares if you haven’t gained as many inches as your peers.

Great things come in small packages, and you, my darling son, are one of the greatest small packages I ever did see!

Happy birthday Mum, and Lil Man!

💝🎁🎂🎉❤️

Sad But True…

Britain seems to be losing its Great…

I didn’t ever think I would be at the receiving  end… (don’t know why) but today I experienced my first Brexit fuelled racist verbal abuse. .. surrounded by 3-4 year olds who were subjected to an f-word fuelled tirade…by a large -bottle of -cider-swigging gentleman in Margate.

Lovely.

A child had chucked a stone up and narrowly missed him. I understand his frustration and had this child’s mother seen him, it wouldn’t have happened.

But you know, kids will be kids.

He started by shouting that “You lot should keep an eye on your kids. He nearly hit me with a rock! ”  then, seeing me and another Indian mother, said “And why don’t you go back where you came from!”

The other surrounding parents, my class’s lovely parents, were predominantly English by chance.

That’s it!

They were on the case straight away!

“What you talking about. We’re All English here!”

That started him off f-ing and blinding, with no care whose innocent ears he was offending.

A Bay Attendant was there and he saw the whole thing, went up to this lovely gentleman then came down to us apologising.

He was aware of the stone throwing but was appalled at the man’s language.

Obviously  it was not a good place to sit and drink cider… he moved on.

All I shall say is “Britain, where’s the Great?”

Am I Mad?

Quite possibly!

Today I embark on my second school class trip as a teacher.

Same trip, twelve months between, totally different set of kids and parents… This is going to be fun!

We’re off on a train job prey with just under 40 little ones, parents and siblings to the seaside for the day!

I was suffering last night with a huge migraine, worried whether I’d be ok for today. But I’m ok this morning! Bright n breezy, but with a sore throat… Great!

In other news, Lil Man is away for his first ever residential trip with school. Huge fun for him, scary for me! My baby is away!!!!! And to top it off, he’s away for his birthday too!!!’ Oh this is sooooo hard!!!!! Still, I wish he has fun. It’s a big week for him, first time away from home, turning 11 then a full trial day in his new school, followed by another cricket match, and ending on Sunday with hugs team playing in a Cup Final match!

Lil Princess has enjoyed her first night sans frere! But I’m sure she’ll miss him soon!

And me? I get to spend time with my fur baby, snuggled up on me, as he’s missing his big brother too! I’ve had snuggles and a tummy massage thanks to Sonu Singh!!!

Ok, well, I’ll be back to let you know how my trip went this evening!!!

Have a great day Peeps!
