So that Colleen went and left us for a month to chase her NaNo dreams, but she didn’t leave us without… oh no, she left us a challenge and a half.
A list of prompt word pairs that she wants in poetic form, but as SYNONYMS, not the actual words!
So, this week, we have
Here’s a Cinquain

Colleen’s Poetry challenge this month includes words which we can’t use, but instead, in their place, we need to use synonyms!
This week we have:
Two for this week:
The first, neither a haiku nor a senryu, as it’s not about nature, nor love, but still, a 5/7/5 form!

Colleen’s alternative poetry challenge NaNoWriMo is running: giving us a pair of words and for us to then use not them, but synonyms in our poems!

This weeks words to switch are~:

I used Indian summer, and fall for autumn and farewell and foliage for leaves, within a tanka.
Indian summer
I bid you a fond farewell
For winter is here
The gold foliage of fall
Gives way to cold, bare winter

Colleen is away now for FIVE weeks, completing #NaNoWriMo… but she’s left her challenges for those weeks… here!
The twist is you have to use her words but as synonyms, not the actual words!
So this week, we have
Fright & Night

On All Hallows Eve
All the spooky ghouls come out
Ready to have fun
Strange things begin to happen
Once darkness covers the land

Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge! The Prompt Words are:
Here goes!
I need to mention a helper I had when penning these… Sonu Singh!

Sonu Singh the Muse!
First, a Haiku:
Trees looking eerie
Dark colours, partially clothed
This season’s costume
Ritu 2017
Then a Cinquain:
Eerie
Darkened costumes
Frightening, Haunting, Shocking
Swaying branches causing nightmares
Creepy
Ritu 2017
And a Senryu, pure silliness!: Used Weird as a synonym for Eerie
Seductive costume
Effect not quite what was planned
Less sexy more weird
