Serenity is

Found in the peace of His home

A calmness of mind

Ritu 2016

Read as

Serenity is found on the peace of His home;

Found in the peace of His home, a calmness of mind

I always find that a sense of calm waves over me whenever I see our local Gurdwara.  We are lucky, we live literally a stone’s throw away, and I see this magnificent building every day.

It’s a great start to a day, and a wonderful way to finish one too!

The rainbow that day was just an added sense of calm that complemented the whole scene that morning.

I must admit that this week, the prompt threw me! I’m not saying I take a perfect shot all the time, bit most of the photos that would fit the prompt had my kids in them. ..and I operate on a no kids photo policy!

The prompt…

1. Choose a photo that you’ve taken that shows something or someone in the wrong position.
2. Create a new post on your blog entitled “Hugh’s Photo Challenge: Week 14 – Wrong Position.”
3. Add the photo(s) you have taken to the post and tell us a little about what you are showing.
4. Create a pingback to this post or leave a link to your post in the comments section below so that other participants can view your post.

So I went back… way back… nearly 40 years back and found this doozy! Yup…that’s me!

A lovely pic! I hear you tease
But what’s that swaying in the breeze?
Not leaves or branches, birds or trees
Only a pair of my dad’s undies!

Enjoy!!!!!

Hugh’s Photo Challenge: Week 13 – Love

hughs-weekly

Love… That is the word prompt for Hugh’s Photo Challenge this week.  A photo of something that encompasses what love means to you… Check out the challenge here.

There are so many different types of love… from family to friends, platonic to romantic.

What to choose!?

Well, I decided to look to my wonderful parents for inspiration for this challenge. they are truly my inspiration for when it comes to love, and seeing how two people can overcome anything, as long as love is there. I couldn’t choose one photo, there are 4 I have put together in a collage.  I hope you can see the love they have, emanating from each shot.

And the poem, this time, is one I wrote when it was their anniversary.

A love like yours
We wish to achieve
That blanket of life
We want to weave
That unerring faith
You have in each other
The respect that you show
For one another
You’re there for us
Whenever the need
The advice you give
We’ll always heed
If we only had half
Of what you had
We’d be so lucky
And we’d be glad
A marriage built
On respect and love
You truly are a match
Made up above.

Hugh’s Photo Challenge: Week 12 – Games

hughs-weekly

Another challenge to keep me on my toes!

Ronovan, masquerading as Hugh, has set us the prompt “Games” for our photo challenge.

Now, those that know me well, know I am not a sporty person at all, and when I think ‘games’, the first thing that comes to mind is PE at school and all those yucky sports!

Then after that, all the board games I loved to play, and playground games.

But the first thing I thought of was football.  No, I really don’t support any teams, and I really have no interest, but as my son is so into it, I thought a photo of him playing in one of his first games would be ideal!

And it’s perfect because, even though it’s him, you can’t see his face (I have a no kids faces on blog policy)!

A Footy Tanka

The beautiful game

Players worshipped by many

All eyes on the ball

Teams supported faithfully

Yet still I haven’t a clue!

Hugh’s Photo Challenge: Week 11 – Rust

In response to the lovely Hugh’s Photo Challenge this week…
I found it tough, looking for rust…. but I found some!

Rust waits for nothing
Not even time forgiven
Tick tock, my poor clock!
