#SoCS – Jan. 9th

Linda’s #SoCS prompt, this week:

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “sky’s the limit.” Write about something that has or seems to have no end. Enjoy!

Oh, what a wicked woman you are, Linda!

The sky’s the limit…

I can think of rather a lot of things, right now that seem to have no end…

This virus has the numbers constantly climbing.

The lockdown feels neverending.

The time kids are sat at home, and we have to do homeschooling… I honestly don’t know it I see the end in sight, at all!

#SoCS 2nd Jan. – In The Corner

Linda’s #SoCS Prompt this week:

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “in the corner.” Write about whatever the image or thought of “in the corner” brings to mind. Have fun!

As soon as I read the prompt, the first thing that came to mind was Dirty Dancing, and that like “Noboby puts Baby in a corner!” line, spoken by Johnny Castle, played by the late, great Patarick Swyze.

A film I absolutely loved when it came out, and it’s still up there, as one I could watch again and again.

In fact, I’m of a mind to go and watch it right now!

#SoCS Dec. 26/2020 – Box

It’s Boxing Day, and it’s also SoCS with Linda!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “box.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

It would be remiss of me to take this prompt, and not mention the biggest box lover in the world… our kitty, Sonu Singh.

You all know the love cats have of boxes… Well our boy is no different. The smaller, the better.

In fact, he won’t let the fact that he is a tad overweight stop him from placing his fat behind into the smallest of boxes, and they may collapse around him, but he won’t care. In boxes, on boxes, outside boxes

Where I fits, I sits.

So the other day, we took delivery of something, and there was a HUGE box for him… Would this be the box for him?

See. Huge! Well, he sniffed around it, and we even got him to sit inside it, but after going round in circles for a bit, he hopped out. Was this box ‘too big’ for Sonu Singh?

Well, yes, and no. It wasn’t fun to sit in because he couldn’t see anything, but we found a solution, and this is where Sonu Singh spent most of the last two days…

bsh

I think it’s going to be Boxing Day every day for this young Kitty!

Where I fits I sits
That's the feline way, you know
Big or small, who cares?

#SoCS Dec. 19/2020 – Magnet

Linda’s #SoCS Prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “magnet.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

The first thing that came to mind was reader magnet.

I’ve been working on a reader magnet, since the middle of the lockdown, but it came to a halt because school started up, and well, life hasn’t been the simplest, recently, for me.

Do you know what a reader magnet is?

It is, for want of a better word, the bait to reel in some new readers, by offering a free short story, novella, or sometimes even a full length book, in exchange for people signing up to your newsletter.

I’m trying to build that up too, but I haven’t even had a chance to send any out, yet!

Maybe this Christmas, I can do it. At least send one out! (Sans reader magnet, though, as that won’t be quite ready!)

#SoCS Dec. 5/2020 – List

Linda’s #SoCS Prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “list.” Make or talk about a list. Enjoy!

Lists.

Time to talk lists.

I’m a Virgo, I love lists.

Lists help me get through all sorts of situations from work-related issues and to-do jobs, and home ones too, like shopping lists, or packing lists for when we go away.

But my biggest, constant list is my TBR (To Be Read) list.

I have less unread physical books, so my ones to read are in a bag, usually by my bedside, but currently at my inlaws house, as we pack bits and bobs up ready for whenever that dream house comes along. That’s my TBR pile.

My list, and I have a proper list written out, (or typed, actually) of my e-books currently on my Kindle, is LOOOOONG!

It’s got the ARCS from NetGalley that I have to read, and all the other books I have purchased over the last few years, that haven’t been read yet. In the hundreds, it is…

Then there is the wishlist on my Amazon account. All the books I like the look of, but won’t buy until the rest of the list calms down…

Did I mention that I love a good list?

How many books on your TBR pile or list?
