“It’s better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.”
Emiliano Zapata
Thank you, Spidey, for showcasing one of my favourite quotes, ever.
I think that truly defines how I live my life, to be honest.
Though, there are times I may be on my feet a bit too much.
Knees aren’t a bad place to be, once in a while. (Especially if, like mine, they arae beginning to hurt again…)
Life has thrown so much craziness my way, the last few weeks, on top of the Pandemic pandemonium.
Work on the house, going back to school full time, worry about my parents who are in Birmingham where there is increased lockdown…
It’s all stuff that is out of my hands.
I’ve just got to deal with it.
And I have been.
But, my body has been hinting that it’s time to rest on my knees for a while.
Just a little rest, it’s not a bad thing. A few days of not rushing around like a loon won’t mean I am missing out.
Work won’t be going anywhere, but at last, the house is more or less done. Before the joy of valuations starts, I’m putting me first.
If I want a bath every night, a soak for an hour, I’m going to do that. I need to go rid my head of the grey that has taken over. I want to read without falling asleep from exhaustion. I want to get back to writing again… my WIP is waiting for me.
And I will do it.
So… tell me, how do you rest?

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps. And enjoy your week!

I embraced the gray, and I love it. One less thing to do! Rest, Ritu.

I understand! My gray started as one tuft in the front, and it turned white. It was striking, so I let it go. I have two friends who battled the gray and colored their hair. When they finally ‘let go’, their hair was gorgeous and they completely changed their hairstyle. It’s all about ‘letting go’ and being ready. I know, it’s hard…

I have to get enough sleep each night–no less than 7 or I just can’t deal. I’m not much for pampering; however I will soon get my hair cut for the first time in 2020–I’m a little excited about that kind of self-care!

Hello Sis! Nice to read/ meet you! Sounds like a novel about a very busy woman. 😉 Yes, whenever its possible take a bath, and use good herbs, curing your body. I have heard about the new lookdowns in the UK. But dont worry, here its the same. Seems the virus is loving Europeans more than others, and will not leave. However: Take care, stay save with yours, and dont forget enjoying the life. Best wishes, Michael

Exept the people here, in the village. There is nobody infected, till now. Since centuries they are living here, not iam.I have to fear the virus will only kill me, if it arrives. But this village in religious community is called “entrance to hell”. 😉

“rest” is an interesting word, because it no longer means lying in a bed…now it means doing something that brings serenity and calm…a book, a new recipe, watching the three hour Director’s Cut of “The Shining” sequel “Doctor Sleep”…a masterful film from a great horror Writer, Stephen King…yes, it was “restful” as I finished it invigorated!

For me doing what I love is rest. I love being in the woods but its hunting season so that isn’t very practical right now. Walking g the neighborhood isn’t the same as being surrounded by ancient trees and their wisdom.

My legs ache today. I was up and down stairs so much the last couple of days!

As a working woman the only luxury I get on a holiday is to wake up one hour late tha the usual working days . After attending family duties, relaxing with good book does wonders.

These days, I don’t get to choose when to rest. If I sit still for longer than a few minutes, I’m snoozing!

At my age rest decides when it wants to take over. I nap everywhere- cooking typing , in front of the tv… works for me though sometimes i have a line of ggggggggggs to delete or the odd pan to decharcoal

I find, right now, that exhaustion means any time in the evening, if I sit, I find I’ve snoozed!

The signs that my career in the law was coming to its natural conclusion coincided with my increased napping in meetings… could have been the excessively dull content too

Well, there’s no chance of me snoozing at work. I have thirty miniature alarm clocks that constantly keep me awake!

A comfy chair and a good book, or sewing or knitting. They’re all good for slowing the mind and the body down.

It used to be a bubble bath (before hot flushes!) Now I’d say a bit of yoga helps. Or a walk in nature. Nothing like switching off from social media for a while. Take care my lovely. x
