Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 296 – Change

img_00411

“My mother would say: “Don’t sit around and complain about things. Do something.” So I did something.

Kamala Harris

Thank you Spidey, for this great quote!

(And can I apologise for the lateness of our appearaance this morning? Been far too tired recently, and I fell asleep before writing and scheduling – but then agan, Spidey was quite busy, last night, celebrating the new president in the US!)

It would be remiss of me to not mention the HUGE news that finally, Trump is out, and we have a new US president. A new POTUS. Biden, here’s to, hopefully, a much better term, than the last has been!

But, for me, and many women out there, even more important is that woman who Spidey quoted, above.

Kamala Harris.

What an inspiration!

The first woman VP of the US.

The first woman of colour VP of the US.

And she will, I hope inspire a new generation of women, from around the world, to really work for what they believe in. Anything is possible.

Kamala is of Jamaican and Indian heritage, so she will become a figure to aspire to be like for a whole different demographic of women, as well as womankind in general.

Congrats to Biden. I hope the change will ease the unrest in the US.

But HUGE congrats to our sister, Kamala Harris! You go, girl!

So… tell me, how are you feeling about the US presidency results?

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps.  And enjoy your week!

Thanks so very much, Ritu for this great quote and your post!!! Loved it! It’s so past time to have a woman on track to be the Vice-President and then President!! I have always said, “The World would be a lot better place if Women were in charge.”!!
Please keep the U.S. in your thoughts and prayers. We aren’t out of the woods yet!

This is the first time I’ve felt optimistic in four years. Unfortunately, we have two more months of the current Presidency to survive. At least we’ve got two adults in the White House soon.

It would be my wish that a woman of color or not could be elected with no one saying a word about skin color or gender. When that happens we know we have made it for sure.

History made and most importantly the american people voted for change and then go with status quo. Congratulations to both, Biden and Harris.

I feel GREAT that we will NEVER have a presidential ticket with two white men on it…that is a thing of the past and rightfully so….

how do I feel about the election?Actually I hadn’t planned to vote but I changed my mind at the last minute. The reality is this country is no better off than it was a week ago. It doesn’t matter who is in the office, Nothing is going to change for the better. At least not until the government starts caring about people. It’s not about public service anymore; politics has become a career and careers are about making money not service to anyone.

Biden and Harris both set milestones in history! What Kamala Harris proved in the big, everybody (regardless of whether women or men) can do this in the small! The best examples are those who showed the most determination to reach their goals they were going for with all their hearts!
