Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week:
Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “In the.” Start your post with the words “In the” – that’s the prompt! Enjoy!
In the morning, I rise, usually, totally knackered.
Honestly. I am of an age where late nights do not suit, but I am unable to sleep in very much, either.
Yet I live in a household where the rest of them can stay up until goodness knows when, and then sleep until the afternoon!
However, it also means a broken night of sleep for me. Because, someone is watching TV a tad too loudly, someone is rustling things in the kitchen, someone comes to bed and knocks things over…
You know the score.
So, although I do count myself as a morning person, I am definitely not your most rested person, especially in term time, when my morning starts at 6am!
Another truly rambling SoCS post, there, for you! (Linda, that was a toughie!)

What a real life answer to the prompt, Sis. If the worst comes to the worst – I think regardless of age – enough sleep is still the best way to survive crises. 😉 xx Michael
By the way, i just have noticed that the English language is saying this in a more pessimistic manner. As we in word by word say “from case to case”, the English language gives the rating “if the worst comes to the worst”. Very impressive! 🙂 xx Michael

The English language can be so complex, Bro!
And yes, enough sleep makes a lot of things more palatable!

I am just making my experiences with it, Sis. 😉 Yes, sleep is always the best. I also heard it today in the Breakfast Time on BBC.

With the passing of the brilliant Sidney Poitier, “In The Heat Of The Night” comes to mind as we are going to re-watch it in his honor….

I’m a light sleeper so hear every movement that is not ‘of the norm’ during the night. Hubby is awake way before me and gets up early. I know he’s up and will sleep for another hour, sometimes the deepest ever. He can sleep on the sofa at the drop of a hat (like now), but once I’m up, that’s it. No dozing for me. Sometimes I get up more tired than when I went to bed, so know where you’re coming from RItu.

See, definitely a woman thing!
My mum is the same, too. Pops is an extra early riser, and he can’t be quiet to save his life, so she struggles, too. At least, being retired, she can disappear for a nap!

We’re both retired, and I still can’t nap in the afternoon unless I’m not feeling well. The only time I did nap in the chair was after my surgery as I was determined to get up every day as usual. I remember being so chuffed at being able to put my socks on!!

Have you tried ear plugs at night, Ritu? It might cancel out some of the noise that tends to wake you. I understand the sleep thing from my work days. I would have to rise at around 5:00 am, so if anything disturbed my sleep, it was not a good day. Wishing you a few days of good sleep every week. We all need to be rested, especially working moms. Have a wonderful weekend!

I have thought of using them, then I get paranoid that I’d miss something important! 🤷🏽♀️

I am sorry for your situation, Rita. I have often been the person rummaging in the kitchen, listening to the TV and knocking things over. Too make matters worse, I fall asleep very quickly. Sorry and sorry.

I am exactly the same, Ritu, I fall asleep by 9 and usually wake up 4:30-5, it’s my natural pattern and what I need to do for my schedule. I haven’t been a night person in a very long time )

You have my sympathy, Ritu. My life is the same. Hubby and the boys like to stay up and I like to get to bed by 10pm as my mornings start at 5.30am during the week.
