Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 398 – Take a Break

img_00411

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… even you.”

Anne Lammot

Lovely quote and an apt reminder, there, Spidey. Thank you!

As I write this, I am aware it’s later than usual, because I have been doing what the quote said and powering down for the week.

It is finally half term break for us teachers and school kids and boy was this term long! For us it was eight weeks of hard slog; settling in the new children, and dealing with a few unexpected situations, but we got through. It is done, and now I have a week to relax and unwind.

What will I do?

Well, there are a few things.

I will switch off, totally, to start with, then I have Diwali to look forward to, as well as a meeting with the local Society of Authors group, and I believe I have a dinner with my girlfriends tentatively planned at the end of the week, too!

But, I also want to get some editing done, too, so that has to be a bit of a priority… after I have powered down for a few days, first, though!

So, tell me, what do you do to switch off?

namaste

Wishing you a wonderfully peaceful Sunday, Peeps!

Dim the lights and play light jazz, then just listen and do nothing else is the way I unplug. It works every time.

I had plugged out the alarm clock. 😉 A bad decision, because no one had remembered me to plug it in again. Best wishes, Michael

Hi Ritu, I typed a comment, and it was immediately deleted?! And the screen has been jumping around like a Jack in the box? And it’s not Halloween just yet…Knowing you – a little – you’ll soon be jumping around as per usual…I woke quite early and ‘composed’ a 50 word piece for Halloween, if I may try it out on you?
    Sable Prince
Jeff Bowater: horse fancier; only, indulged, child of billionaire Charles Bowater’s mantra, is ‘Fast cars, horses and women.’ Sable Prince stood, handsome, in the early Autumn sunshine: sleek and desirable. The price was fair, but it was a shame he didn’t know about the secret curse of the blood line…
(What do you want for nothing… ha ha!) Have a good week. Cheers. xx

Yesterday, I spent the day watching terrifically bad holiday movies! Thank goodness for YouTube…

I will put aside writing and worrying about my next book or the outcome of current submissions and will get stuck into reading a really good, absorbing book instead
But I will still have my notebook and pen beside me to make notes for the review!! Or I’ll watch a good film (probably the best choice).
