Daily Prompt – JusJoJan the 9th, 2022 Unicorn

It’s been a while since I took part in Linda’s JusJoJan month-long prompts, but, since I vowed to be creative, here goes!

It’s January 9th, so this is the 9th prompt for Just Jot it January 2022, and it’s brought to us by Astrid. Thank you, Astrid! Please be sure to visit her blog to read her post and say hello. And follow her while you’re there if you’re not already.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 9th, 2022, is “unicorn.” Use the word “unicorn” any way you’d like. Enjoy!

I think my daughter just missed the whole unicorn mass hysteria, that the little girls out there seem to be experiencing, right now.

Mind you, she’s always been her own person, and even if others were crazy about something, she would decide not to be a follower It was the same with Frozen – she never got into that. Even at 6! And One Direction. Whist others in her class were singing their songs and being all cutesy about who they loved best, she was not interested. Instead, she did a performance of Why Does Every Princess Need To Have a Prince, with some friends at the end of the year talent show.

A real independent woman with a bit of a feminist thrown in there!

Anyway, I digress…

Unicorns. I have a couple of girls in my class, right now, with those hats that have long extended sides, that end with mitten like gloves, and they are designed like unicorns.

Another one joined the unicorn fray, well, so I thought until I questioned her lovely, light-grey unicorn hat.

“It’s not a unicorn, Mrs Bhathal. It’s a narwhal!”

She reminded me of my fiercely independent girl sitting at home.

We ended up doing a little google search to look at pictures of real narwhals, that afternoon.

Why not be a narwhal in a see of unicorns, eh!

#SoCS Jan. 08 2022 – In The…

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week:

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “In the.” Start your post with the words “In the” – that’s the prompt! Enjoy!

In the morning, I rise, usually, totally knackered.

Honestly. I am of an age where late nights do not suit, but I am unable to sleep in very much, either.

Yet I live in a household where the rest of them can stay up until goodness knows when, and then sleep until the afternoon!

However, it also means a broken night of sleep for me. Because, someone is watching TV a tad too loudly, someone is rustling things in the kitchen, someone comes to bed and knocks things over…

You know the score.

So, although I do count myself as a morning person, I am definitely not your most rested person, especially in term time, when my morning starts at 6am!

Another truly rambling SoCS post, there, for you! (Linda, that was a toughie!)

Daily Prompt – JusJoJan the 7th, 2022 Tempest

It’s been a while since I took part in Linda’s JusJoJan month-long prompts, but, since I vowed to be creative, here goes!

It’s January 7th, so this is the 7th prompt for Just Jot it January 2022, and it’s brought to us by Liz. Thanks, Liz! Please be sure to visit her blog to read her post and say hello. And follow her while you’re there, if you’re not already.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 7th, 2022, is “tempest.” Use the word “tempest” any way you’d like. Enjoy!

The Collins Dictionary tells me…

Tempest can be used as a:

2. COUNTABLE NOUNYou can refer to a situation in which people are very angry or excited as a tempest.

  • [literary]I hadn’t foreseen the tempest my request would cause.
  • The takeover provoked a tempest of criticism.

So, I can quite honestly say that I hadn’t forseen the tempest my literary news would cause, this week!

Today, I came home to flowers, cards and even balloons!

I am, obviously so excited, and the fact that it has caused so much excitement to others, is just beyond my imagination!
