So, here’s my take…

The Case of the Prejudiced Ghost

“I’m sorry mother, but no, I refuse!”

Mrs Darcy sighed, as well as any paranormal apparition could sigh.

Edgar had become increasingly picky lately about his work, and when he would and wouldn’t go out on duty.

She fondly remembered the days of the past, when they would go off to work together, and any living soul sighted, human or animal, was cause for great excitement! He loved the reactions he got, when he was seen. This gory, ghostly apparition, walking towards them, with his head held in his hand, blood dripping from the severed skull as he approached them.

The screams, oh the screams! A sound of pure ecstasy for them!

Their job was done.

More and more ‘ghost hunters’ and thrill seekers started to visit their house, hoping to view the infamous Edgar Darcy, walking the corridors of the old mansion.

This was around the time it happened.

Edgar got big headed (as much as a headless ghost could!) and started to refuse to perform on demand.

He would peer out of the window and sometimes it took just one look at the people coming.

“Absolutely not mother! They’re wearing…Burberry Tracksuits!”

Hope you enjoyed!

Don’t Take Life For Granted

Saddened by a few pieces of personal news this week…

Words flow from strange places…

Life, it has no permanence
Life gives no guarantees
So we should live it fully
And do the things that please

Life, a gift bestowed on us
Like a seed, once planted
Water it, nurture it, help it grow
Don;t take life for granted

Tree #writephoto

Sue Vincent over at Daily Echo has given us this photo as our prompt…

tree

I must admit my mind went a bit more ‘adult’ when looking at this photo…

Submissive

Trussed up and wanting

Unclothed and in submission

Pure debauchery

Erm, could it be to do with the genre of book I am reading at present…?

Anyway, the photo also reminded me of a picture I took last year, of a local tree that was, in comparison to the above one, rather modest! See for yourself!

These trees, eh!

Appointments

If you are in the UK, you will totally identify with the little cartoon below.  It appears that when you are unwell, it is almost impossible to get an appointment straight away. Usually, the next available pre-bookable one will be three weeks from now… no good if you are literally ‘dying’ right now!  The other option in many surgeries is to ring in the morning for an appointment.  That is not always convenient either, or there is such a glut of people calling for the same reason, that when you do get through, they are already fully booked!

The other thing you can do is go to a walk-in centre, where you are usually guaranteed to be seen though you may have to wait 3-4 hours in a room with other coughing, sniffling beings, and you might even leave iller than you were before you arrived, due to cross contamination!

I was in this situation today, having suffered from a few ailments recently, I thought I had better go and visit my dear GP, during the holidays, to save having any time off from school. Dreading the phone call, I came off it, inspired to write a little ditty!

Appointments for Current Ailments

A time that I was dreading
Had come, and I was made
To make that darned phonecall
To the doctors, be afraid!

So I dialled the number and waited
Normally greeted by engaged tone
Imagine my shocked face when
Someone actually answered the phone!

Usually, you need to plan
The time when you are ill
To get seen when sickness strikes
The chances oft, are nil

Some ‘umming’ and ‘aahing’ followed
And then to my surprise
An appointment was confirmed
Tomorrow, pm at 5!

Ron’s prompt words Veiled & Fray

fray

Look at the frayed edge
If I pull, what will happen?
A veiled threat for sure!
