Day 26 – #musicalmarch🎵

Day 26 of #musicalmarch🎵

Coolio and Gangsta’s Paradise was another song that featured in my uni years quite a lot. I wasn’t a heavy rap fan, but some songs just grow on you…

And I won’t go Eastern, but East African today! It wouldn’t be right for me to ignore the Kenyan influence in my life! This song gets played at all our family weddings, and reminds me of many fun summers spent back in Kenya!

Any other culture songs that you enjoy?

#SoCS Mar. 25/17 – March

Linda’s #SoCS prompt this Saturday is…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “march.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

March is coming to an end. It’s been a strange month.

Blogging wise, I kept busy with my #musicalmarch posts, injecting a little music into the lives of my followers, and being reminded of more amazing songs by those who decided to join me on my musical journey.

I spent the beginning of the month on sick leave after my accident.

We have experienced another terrorist attack, this time in London.

The UK was busy raising money for Comic Relief.

And there is still a week to go.

I have the fun of my best friend’s baby shower tonight, but that also means sitting in the driver’s seat for my first long distance drive, alone, since the crash.

Then we have Mother’s Day this Sunday too.

It’s the last week of term, so there are plenty of loose ends to tie up at school before our two week Easter Break.

During that week, I will be attending a leaving do for two colleagues who will be sorely missed.

This month has also seen my Lil Man start Food Technology at school, and he has totally embraced it! We have been sampling cakes a few times so far! (Yesterday’s Victoria Sponge being the latest!

Yes, a busy month in many ways…  Roll On April!

Day 25 – #musicalmarch🎵

Day 25 of #musicalmarch🎵!

A little R Kelly and Bump N Grind, as it was another song that played heavily on my uni years!

And for the Eastern influence today… Cholo Ke Peeche Kya Hai from Khalnayak! This one reminds me of Uni too, as the guys went crazy for the video! Madhuri Dixit is an amazing dancer, and she set a real precedence here as the dance was shot apparently in one take! The lyrics translate to ” What’s under your top??!!” You heart obvously! ;P

wp-1477781949515.png

Another week down, and guess what… I stayed the same… again!

Managing this maintaining pretty well to be honest!

Here are a few meals I had this week…

And as  it is Comic Relief today, and we were all wearing red for Red Nose Day, I treated myself to a new top… my first size 10 top in a long time!

And today’s recipe will be …

Wrap Pizza and ‘Slimming World’ Friendly Chips

20161127_190119

For 1 person

For Chips

1 potato peeled or withskin, chopped into chips.

Frylight Spray

  • Preheat oven to 220 degrees celsius
  • Parboil chips for 5 minutes.
  • Drain and allwo to stand for around 10 minutes.
  • Spray baking tray with Frylight spray, spread chips evenly and spray oil lightly again. Season with salt and pepper, and place in oven for 30 minutes.
  • Turn occasionally.

For Pizza

One tortilla wrap (I use BFree Wraps as they can be used as one of your fibre healthy extras in a day)
Tomato Puree
Passata
Dried mixed herbs
Whatever topping you want
Grated cheese (I use 40g light cheddar as it is a calcium healthy extra in Slimming World)

  • Place wrap on baking tray
  • Mix a little passata with tomato puree, season with salt and pepper and add a sprinkle of mixed herbs. This makes a simple pizza sauce base. Spread on the wrap
  • Top with your choice of toppings. I use lots of vegetables, like tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, sweetcorn and add cooked chicken too.
  • Sprinkle cheese on top and scatter a few mixed herbs on top
  • Place in oven for 10 minutes until the cheese has melted and is turning golden

Plate up and enjoy!

I hope you like the choice of recipe this week! As I mentioned last week, if there is anything you want me to post a recipe for, from my previous pictures, just drop me a line and let me know!

Off to a baby shower tomorrow, so will catch up soon!

Stay fit, healthy and safe Peeps!!!

Sue’s #writephoto prompt this week…

It wasn’t often that she got to the beach ahead of the rest of the crowds, but today was one of those days. The morning mists were just clearing, and the sun was starting to shine.
Looking at the empty run of golden sand, with the tufts of green grass inviting her to sit, she took a step forward.
Then stopped.
Those shadows.
Glancing to her right, she expected to see other standing there. Drat, she wasn’t the first after all.
But there was no one there. The whole beach was empty.
Yet the shadows remained.
And they appeared to be moving towards her.
Footprints appeared in the sand.
She needed no other warning.
Tightening her grip on her beach bag, she sped off, screaming to no one in particular.
