Today it is the ninth birthday of my Lil Princess.

What a great day to let you all know how much she means to me.

Hand In Hand

Mini Me

The biggest blessing of my life,
Becoming a mummy, after being a wife.

I love them both equally, yes, it’s true
But with my girl, the things we can do!

Shopping, dressing up, hair styles, nails
And when she’s older, advice about males!

She amazes and frustrates in equal amounts
But the love that she gives, now that’s what counts.

When there are tears, it tears at my heart,
I hate it whenever we are apart.

The giggles and laughter, that beautiful sound,
She lights up my life, when she is around.

I love my girl, and I’m lucky to be
The mummy to someone so very crazy!

I Love My Nails But…

… I cannot type with them anymore!

It’s been over two weeks since I had my lovely French manicure with a touch of glitter applied. They’ve lasted pretty well!

I was hoping to get a refresh last week but our impromptu trip put paid to that!

They are still looking good. Thank heavens for Gel Polish!

But my issue is this…

They are too long ! I’m finding it difficult to type now!

Whenever my fingers whizz over my keyboard,they add 20% more random letters to my posts as the tips of my nails hit keys above what I wanted to press!

Thank heavens for spellchecker and Grammarly!!!

So apologies in advance if I write something in your comments that makes no sense… or if there are typos in my posts… blame the nails!!!

Pretty, but soooo annoying! I don’t know how other ladies cope but I can’t,lol!

A very different Post!

We could all do with a little help at times. And here is a woman who, despite difficulties, is trying to keep going. A shared and a little help from those more fortunate could be worth a lot to her.

A New Direction Perhaps?

This is a very different Post from my usual literary meanderings, as it focuses on my daughter Melanie.

She was diagnosed with a brain tumor 10 years ago and, as it was not possible to surgically remove all of it, she has had considerable chemo and radiation treatments. Sadly, while those treatments have no doubt kept her alive, there are numerous long term side effects which dictate that she cannot perform regular work functions, and is therefore dependent on benefits from her disability provider.

When she is up to it, she uses her time volunteering for a non-profit program that coaches people who are fighting poverty.

Melanie has always been a fighter but, being unable to earn an income, she is struggling to cover her basic living costs. When I was in N. Vancouver last October, he spirits were quite high, but she was obviously concerned about paying her monthly…

Day 19 #Loveuary ❤Aphrodisiacs

Apparently, there are a whole load of foodstuffs out there that have the aphrodisiac quality…

Chillies
Avocado
Asparagus
Bananas
Chocolate
Pomegranate
Red Wine
Salmon
Walnuts
Vanilla
Watermelon
Oysters…

Now, the above list is by no means exhaustive. There are many more items that are meant to affect our libido in a certain manner, and get us in the mood for lurve, if you know what I mean!

Looking at the items above, I would say I consume pretty much all of them, with the exception of red wine… sorry, can’t do red wine! And chillies, within limit.

If you’d asked me a week ago if I would try oysters, I would have reverted to a child and pretended to throw up! I have only recently started to eat fish regularly, and prawns are the only shellfish I will eat… unshelled of course!

But on the weekend, our whole family went to Loch Fyne, a seafood restaurant, as a treat for a few members of our family’s birthdays. I did shy away from the fish, and ordered a duck main, but I was brave enough to have salt and pepper squid for starters.

You can order oysters here too, singly, or in any numbers up to a dozen, and there are a few varieties from plain, to sweet chilli, horseradish and beetroot, to lime and tequila! My brother in law decided to order a selection and paraded them in front of me. Lil Man wanted to try, but shied away. Lil Princess and my mother in law said “No Thanks” firmly!

Hubby Dearest had a try, and then I got my guts up, and tried a Sweet Chilli one. And it was surprisingly nice! Admittedly it was in batter, I just could not have done that ‘slipping down your throat’ thing! The thought makes me heave!
