Monday is Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge, and last night I was so busy wrapping gifts for kids teachers and writing Christmas cards, I was unable to post my entry. So here it is, on a Tuesday morning instead!
Oh he has raised the bar again this week, has Ron! Yes, you can do your usual haiku using the prompt words, Look & Charm, but the added challenge is to have the haiku with opposing sentences. So the first be a positive and a second a negative… or something like that!
And another extra, try and write a Freku… this consists of free verse, and a traditional haiku that ties the whole feel of the verse in 3 lines.

It keeps on growing,
My huge pile of ironing
Is neverending…
As if I didn’t have enough on with sleepovers and sick kids, and running on empty…
There was a huge pile of ironing staring at me!
So armed with water to refill the iron, and The X-Factor final to keep me company I managed to tackle it!
Phew!
So, theoretically, tomorrow, I just have an early run to take the boys to a football match, and mend my daughter, not forgetting to bake some cookies … I might be able to squeeze a nap in too!
