Bag of Nerves Emptied!

Can you tell from my Bitmoji’s what I am about to announce?

Firstly, thanks to you all for the good wishes/candles/prayers.

I spent part of this morning in tears at school, talking to colleagues, as I was so stressed, and worried about the outcome of the Secondary School admissions process.

Then I tried my hardest to forget until at least 4 pm as that was when the emails were rolling out…

So after despatching me afternoon crazies,  It was around 3.50 pm, I thought i would check my mail.. obviously nothing was going to be there yet… but I saw an email from the Admissions team.

EEK!!!!

They were early!

I actually had to make my self sit down before opening the message as I was shaking.

Then I read it, and read it again. I closed it and then opened it again, and read it. I even got my colleague to read it to confirm.

HE GOT INTO HIS FIRST CHOICE SCHOOL!

The relief I felt was palpable! I nearly fainted!

Then obviously I had to go and find the Lil Man in question. His teacher, who knew how stressed I was, met me on my way, and gave me a great big hug!

Lil Man, well, I got him to read the message himself, and he literally jumped in the air and cried “YES!!!!”

It is a weight off our shoulders. I have told him that now he knows his destination for next year, he should be relieved, and that he  must just try his hardest at school, which we know he already does, and just do his best.  No more negativity, just positive vibes!

Our selection process works on many criteria, that the Local Authority set, and they include Children in care, special needs pupils, siblings, and distance, and if you have applied for a faith school, that is also something that gets taken into account.

So I was so happy that he got in, as I was aware that the school in question was oversubscribed, and that even though we were close, there were man children closer…

But ironically enough, I already know of 2 children who live closer who didn’t get in…

God, you were really looking down on us, and as I said before, all your thoughts and prayers must have played a part too!

Panic Attack!

Yesterday, what a day!

Obviously, I had the lovely part, which was my anniversary, but then the nerve wracking bit, my observations, loomed too!

After battling with Lil Princess at 3.30am and not getting back to sleep until 5am, I was awoken by the house phone ringing at 5.45am! It was my parents calling from their holiday, to wish us a happy anniversary.. But could I find the actual handset? It was tucked away in the study!

I was hoping for a few moments more of sleep but it wasn’t to be… So I switched my alarm off, and trudged downstairs to get ready for the day ahead.

The observation went well, in the end, really well! We got Good, and I am happy with that! Who wants Outstanding? There is nowhere to aim if you hit perfection straight away, right?!

The evening brought a night of takeaway, as we will celebrate the anniversary on the weekend. But I was so tired I fell asleep without a thought for the kids lunches, the dishes etc!

Hubby Dearest tried not to wake me as he got the bed ready but I woke up, and thought I’d better get prepared, with the kids lunch requirements… Doing it in the morning is such a drag!

Off to bed I went…

This morning,I hesitantly opened an eye… I’d heard no kids, the cat had miaowed once…and it was daylight… Wait, that’s not right…my alarm goes off when it’s pitch black!

The phone tells me it’s 7.22am, and I usually get to school, for 7.30!!! Sh*t!!! The alarm!!

Yesterday I had switched it off, and it’s one of those recurring alarms!

Cue me running around like a headless chicken screaming to then kids to wake up,and get dressed!

All I can say is Thank God I made the lunches last night!!!!

We got into school within half an hour, so I wasn’t too late, but it made for a fraught start to the day!

Needless to say, the alarm has been checked, and I am all prepared for tomorrow… I think!

Have a good night Peeps!

But I Smile Anyway...

Sod’s Law!

Oh Weekend!

Where did you go? I can’t believe it’s Monday already!

This weekend went swimmingly, with a lot of driving, but a lot of baby cuddles from my Lil Babe, my Finndian nephew! He is so gorgeous, I wish I could post a pic, but it’s something I just don’t do on here!

We had a prayers for him too, and lots of fun, but wanting to spend every minute with him, that I could meant waking at 6am on Saturday and Sunday too, so by the time I got home, I was shattered!

Last night an early night meant I was in bed at 8pm, and gently drifting off. By 10pm I was knocked out, and this meant a good 8 hours solid sleep, as my alarm was due to go off at 6am ready for school…
So why was something beeping at me at 5am??!!

After locating the offending item, I turned off my old phone, which Lil Princess had kindly turned on yesterday, to play on, and not switched off! It had an alarm on it that hasn’t been disabled!

So much for a solid 8 hours! I also had my middle of the night visitor, Lil Princess, join me at some ungodly hour, but as Hubby Dearest is away for a couple of nights, I didn’t notice too much, that an additionalbody was in bed with me!

And, (dear God!) I’ve woken up with the cold, again! This is truly not fair! I have a week left until half term, and wanted to at least be healthy until it was over!

Today I HAVE to go in… My colleague is not around, and I can’t large my team one down. Maybe I’ll perk up,once I am with those lovely children(😁) but then again, maybe not…

Here’s hoping today goes smoothly, with not too many hitches, and that this cold does one too!

Have a lovely Monday Peeps!

Old Faces…

Here’s where the old pics come into play!

Tonight my old school class are having a reunion! I am going to be travelling to Birmingham to my parents, with Lil Princess in tow, to hopefully see many old faces from my school years! We have all changed, married, grown up, become mums or career women, or both, and our main reason for meeting this year? We have all finally turned 40! I thing I was the last one to hit the milestone, and one of the others thought it would be a great time to meet up again!

I’m not sure how many of us are going to be there, out of 50 girls, spread amongst 2 classes, but I am so excited! Some, I haven’t seen for 24 years, some 21, some a little less than that, but I think I can safely say I haven’t met any of my class mates for at least 13 years! The power of social media means we have all been parts of each others lives in one way or another. There probably won’t be huge surprises as to who is who, hopefully we will all remember each others names! (I was always known as Ratty, to my friends, nothing to do with personality, but shortened from my full name Ratinder, once we had watched Wind In The Willows for the first time in school together!)

I haven’t been to a reunion before, and living in Kent after marriage, a good 3 hours away it was never likely that I would bump into people! So here goes to a fabulous night of reminiscing!

I shall make sure I post all about it soon!
