WRITESPIRATION #140 52 WEEKS IN 52 WORDS WEEK 45 – Shoes @sacha_black

Sacha’s #Writespiration prompt this week:

Your challenge is to write your story using the weekly theme/prompt and write it in just 52 words…. EXACTLY, no more, no less.

writespiration-2017

Write a day in the life of a pair of shoes – your protagonist IS the shoes.

“Look at them, with their high heels and pointed, patent toes. Okay, they look good, but what about all the pain they cause?  I know she is excited to wear them. Louboutins, they call themselves, with those funny red soles. But she’ll come back to me, as always. Slippers are the best.”

One Liner Wednesday Shoes – #1LinerWeds

Linda’s #1LinerWeds challenge is upon us…

Seriously… How does a child manage to come home in two different shoes… different style, and even different size… not to mention both are left sides of a pair… and still not notice?!

20170703_174040

Yes, yes, I know it’s one line and all that, but I had to explain! Lil Man came home after a PE lesson that day in one of his shoes, and another two sizes too small! Admittedly the shoes were in his bag as he came home in his trainers, but for a short while he had actually worn them, and still not noticed!!!!

Had to do a mad dash three weeks before the end of the school year to get him a new pair of shoes for school.. never cheap at the best of times… because school are sticklers for correct uniform, and it was unlikely that the other show would get recovered!

We were the responsible ones though, and got him to take the odd shoe back to school, to lost property, in case it’s partner was to turn up! Maybe, just maybe, his other one will get handed in too!

Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 27 – ‘Vintage’

It is Hugh’s Photo Challenge again! Back after a 2 week hiatus!

Being in Finland at the moment, I really wanted to take a photo of something here. I saw some amazing vintage cricket balls in an antique shop we passed, but my camera and phone battery had died at the time, so no photo taken there!

This whole trip has been about ‘vintage’, as we celebrate my Pops reaching that grand old age of 70, and him still being a sprightly soul!

But I found this one, and it made me think of ‘vintage’ high heels! I used a mild sepia filter on the photo to give it a slightly aged look! It was a great flower display holder made of twine and wire!

No matter how big,
Or even how small
Women love shoes
Oh, we love em all!
Old ones or new ones
Tall ones or short
We’ve all lost count
Of the amount we’ve bought
Skyscraper high
Or ballet pump low ones
Or beautiful vintage
You never could wear ones
It’s just an addiction
That we cannot help
Even if sometimes
They make us yelp!

Ritu 2016

It may be slightly off kilter today, but that’s what you get from a tired brain, who has spent an hour tending to a vomiting daughter! Never easy when you aren’t home, but the hotel staff have been wonderful!
