Another week, another bunch of lovely munchies!

20161126_120916

You know me, playing with my food!

And a really yummy dish I made…

20161127_190119

Syn free pizza and Slimming World chips! This was particularly yummy!

The base was a gluten free wrap called BFREE. This counted as my Healthy Extra Fibre quote for the day. The cheese was my Healthy Extra Calcium content. The toppings were all free choice veg and protein!

I must confess though, that i haven’t been staying within my Syn limit. I was expecting to gain a lb or 2, or best case scenario, maintain. Those Curly Wurlys and Malteasers were calling far too loudly!

But…

I lost 2lbs!

Week 13 really!

And I hit my second mini target or 135lb!

1480660367109So, in total, since I started this journey, I have lost a total of 18lbs on Slimming World and 23lb all in all!

To celebrate, I ate 3 slices of Pizza Hut pizza yesterday! Whoops!

Been good this morning, but we’re eating out tonight too, as my parents are here!

Have a great week Peeps!!

Another week, another lot of naughty eating mixed in with plenty of good stuff!

This week I made two lots of soup, roasted pepper and tomato, and roasted veg soup. I ate a few portions over the week at lunch and froze plenty too!

Being as it was our anniversary weekend too, I had a takeaway… and over the week I have been a little sneaky… a few extra Maltesers here and there too!

But something must be going ok because…

I lost another 1lb!

2016-11-25_06-57-57

16lb off with Slimming World, and a total of 21lb! That’s a stone and a half!

Phew!

I’m so pleased with myself, I am off to eat Maltesers!!!

Well hello, Peeps!

Another week done, another achievement!

I have been good all week, knowing that today was our anniversary, and I plan to be naughty all weekend… foodwise, silly!

And it paid off!

So tonight we went out to TGI Friday’s for dinner with the kids, and I ordered whatever I wanted, with an ice cream cocktail too! And I had a glass of bubbly before we left!

And the loss…

Another 1lb! 138lbs now!

2016-11-18_06-51-51

So that is 15lb with SW, and cumulative 20lbs since I started this whole healthy eating kick!

And I hit my Club 10 target with SW today too! Club 10 is when you lose 10% of your starting body weight, and today I did that too!

And I know at least one of you wanted to see some photographic evidence that something is happening.

I am not in the habit of taking photos of my flab, but if you see the picture below, the May photo is the one that spurred me on to actually lose weight! My bloated face horrified me, and the Dr’s scale measurement even more so! The next two photos show me more recently, and today, where hopefully you can see the change in my face!

Have a wonderful weekend Peeps! My celebrating is still going on this weekend, so I won’t be surprised with a gain next week!

Ritu’s Healthy Living – Week 13 #icandothis

Thirteen weeks ago, I embarked on this mission to improve my lifestyle, my eating habits, in order to lose some weight, and generally make myself feel healthier. My plan was to hopefully lose around 2stone. Realistically, 1.5 stone would do.wp-1477781949515.png

And I lost some… then decided I needed another boost so I joined Slimming World too. I was so happy to say that I hit my Slimming World target last week.

I was worried. A few days at my parents and then the big foodfest that is Diwali, last week, meant I was sure I would have my weight creeping up rather than down this week.

20161030_172935

Naughty, deep fried food… I had some on more than one day! And rich, creamy rice pudding too!

And it did. I defy anyone who says that they only ever step on the scales once a week! I for one get up, and take all my clothes off to step on my scales every morning! It wasn’t a pleasant sight this week. Usually, I maintain my weight for a couple of days, then the numbers start to decrease. This week, though, the numbers actually crept up….. I put on 2.5lbs and on Tuesday, I was determined, I needed to do something!

So I really focussed, I used an extra part of the Slimming World Diet plan called Extra Easy where there are a few other foods that you curb for a few days too, like excess carbs, and dairy, but you still eat your healthy extras which give you the fibre and calcium you need.

Here is a selection of my meals this last week…

I’ve been tired this week. Back to school after a blissful week off, and the in-laws are away for a prolonged visit to the Motherland, so I have a lot more running around, with the kids. (They help us out so much with the picking up of the children after school, so I can work late, and also Mum in law feeds them too! She has actually frozen lots of mini pots of curry for the kids, so all I have to do is make fresh chapattis for a few of the nights a wee at least!) But I have managed to hit my step count every day, so at least I am moving around!

And when weigh in day approached yesterday, it was with trepidation, but also there was a little hope… and

2016-11-04_07-33-37

I stayed the same as last week! Yay! 10 stone still! So the full loss still stands at 18lb over the last 13 weeks.

Hopefully next week will be easier, though a few sweet treats extra seemed to sneak their way between my lips today… oops!

Until next time Peeps!

Ritu’s Healthy Living – Week 12 #icandothis

Well well well!

It’s been another roller coaster week.

Holidays. They tend to do that, you know!

I have been killing my step count via my fitbit over the last few weeks, which has been amazing! But this  week… put it this way, even my Fitbit knows I’ve been relaxing! I think today was the first day since Monday that I hit my daily target!

But I have been reading, and enjoying time with my parents… and obviously that has affected my eating! I have tried to be good, but it’s hard not to indulge when you are back home with Pops and Mum… she’s a great cook! and then you slip in the odd meal out, or cup of tea and rather large scone… oops!

But I have been good otherwise! See my achievement below!

Tonight, I knew the plan was for the family to order a chinese takeaway. I came prepared and thought I would try a Slimming World ready meal, available at Iceland, of Sweet and Sour chicken with plain rice. That saved the syns for a few nibbles from the starters!

20161029_200049

It was ok… but I may just stick to eating the real deal next time!

Other food this week, looked a bit like this, including homemade Weetabix/oat carrot muffins!

And my results this week?

1lb off!

I got this from Slimming World yesterday!

Yes! I reached the target I set with Slimming World, of 10 stone!

So that is another 1lb off, making 13lbs with Slimming World and 18lb in total over the last 12 weeks!

Seriously, I am not sure how I managed it, but i did!

Now the ideal will be to get down a fedw more, to 9 and a half stone. But even if it is just below 10 stone, I would be happy! 10 stone is definitely my happy weight. I can deal with being 10 stone!

Really I need to do some toning, the mummy tummy is still there, a little emptier, a little flatter, but still a pouch sitting there, above my bikini line, taunting me.. but then again, there are great control pants out there!!!

I have no idea what next week will bring.

a) the in-laws will be away for 6 weeks, from Monday,  so there is a lot of household stuff that I will need to take charge of, at their place.

b) I’ll be rushing around so need to make sure I don’t resort to convenience food

and the biggie

c) it’s Diwali tomorrow, and there will be all manner naughtiness, food wise… temptation that I won’t be able to avoid!

But at least I’ll have fun, eh!!!!

Have a wonderful night/day Peeps!!!!

Until next week, when I let you know the effects of the above 3!!!
