Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 159 #Snowmaggedon2018

“Kindness is like snow. It beautifies everything it covers.” – Khalil Gibran

Well, we had to think about snow this week, didn’t we Spidey!

Having been stuck inside pretty much all week, not only because I was signed off with my arm injury, but because we got a whole lotta snow, courtesy of The Beast from the East at the beginning of the week, and Storm Emma at the tail end, snow just had to figure.

And this was just a perfect quote.

When you look outside and see the blanket of white covering the world, even the ugliest of scenes is transformed into a thing of beauty.

Equally, a drop of kindness into a puddle of unhappiness can make such a difference to a person.

Your simple smile or hello could change the thoughts of a person in the depths of loneliness. An offer to help out with someone’s shopping bags, or popping over to a neighbour in bad weather, to make sure they are okay, it all casts a brighter light on the other person’s day.

Random Acts of Kindness – something that spread like wildfire a couple of years back.

Why should it be simply a hashtag, a phase?

We should try to drop these acts of kindness every day.

They should really be second nature, not a deeply thought out act.

Kindness is in us all.

It is not something that has to cost money. Just a little time and energy. And believe me, you’ll feel richer yourself for helping someone.

Go on – make someone happy today, what kind act will you perform? In fact, not just today, everyday!

Stay positive 🙂

Happy Sunday Peeps!

You’re right Sister, kindness should be more than a hashtag. Everyday kindness should be second nature.

Kindness shouldn’t be something we plan on doing on a specific day. It should be a basic attitude!

Wise words! And, not to rub it in or anything…but Spring has sprung on the Texas Gulf Coast. Yesterday it hit 79 degrees, and it was very humid as well. My plants are beginning to bloom and add color to the yard. The neighbor’s rebud tree is in full bloom and is inspiring. “Spring has sprung; the grass has riz; I wonder where them birdies is?”
The robins came through heading north last week. They ate the berries on my Nandina bushes and pooped red all over the driveway. We had to wash it off with the hose. Fortunately we keep our cars in the garage. Some of the robins were drunk on the berries and staggered all down the walk and drive; they didn’t even see us standing there laughing at them! Spring is definitely here.

Oh you are so lucky Rae!
We’ve had the big thaw in our area already too. The sludge is even gone too! Back to normal tomorrow albeit with a painful arm! Enjoy spring! Hoping it’ll follow here soon too!

You are quite right, Ritu. It is the small things done on a daily basis that make this world a better place.

A beautiful thought from Spidey. Yes snow makes everything beautiful until it melts. We must be kind and make sure we expect nothing back. Often when we make an act of kindness we unconsciously expect something back. A little gratitude, love even just kindness back, when nothing is forthcoming some people get bitter. They feel they just give, give all the time and people just take. That is went the snow turns dirty and slush fills up people’s souls. I have learned to give and not expect anything in return. It a lesson we all need to learn it saves a lot of pain. I hope this is not a spoil sport reaction just a lesson learnt. Be prepared to give and not receive, the saying is it is more blessed to give than receive. 💜💜💜 I am going to smile at everyone I meet today and have mother in law over for the and try and keep her happy too. Be happy today Sis 🤔💜💜💜
