Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 361 – Strong

img_00411

“You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice.”

Bob Marley

I think I really need to appreciate my strength this week, Spidey. so, thank you for this quote, today.

This above quote resonates so much.

I have always been of the belief that whatever higher power there is, up there, putting us through our paces, never sends us more than he knows we can handle. Though, those times can seem like we are breaking, or broken, even. If we are able to centre ourselves and look internally, we can find the strength to deal with whatever has been thrown at us.

That is where strength comes in. It’s not about lifting weights, or that physical strength, rather the emotional strength that gets us through life.

I haven’t been feeling 100% at all the last few weeks but, as you know, we teachers soldier on. There have been more and more cases of Covid in the school, and this week at least two members of my team succumbed, too.

I have been testing daily, sometimes twice, to keep track of my own status, but the headaches from the stress, the restless nights, coupled with the work we still need to, so our children are educated properly, eamt that I had to draw from an inner strength that I wasn’t sure I had.

But, it is obviously there, as here I still am, standing strong, ish.

We made it to the end of the week, and I was able to manage staffing shortages, as well as the rest of what my job entails, and life stuff, too.

And, most important of all, I’m still smiling.

So, are you able to find your inner strength?

This post, by no means is meant to belittle those who struggle to cope. I know the world is made of different people with different ways. And we are not always able to find a path that leads to a positive conclusion. My thoughts are always with those that struggle, too.

namaste

Wishing you a wonderfully peaceful Sunday, Peeps!

HI Ritu, I assume that the dropping of all the regulations relating to covid in the UK is causing this increase in infection. As it isn’t deadly I suppose the view is that everyone must get it to gain herd immunity [if that is possible for a flu like virus which mutates]. Life seems to be a war cry of “onwards and upwards” right now. Michael has concussion following a bad fall at school. Eeeek!

I have so much respect for teachers, you do such an important job, Ritu. My daughter is now a secondary teacher in English and it’s darn hard work but she loves it. Couldn’t be more proud. Teachers rock! And you rock even more because you write too! That’s strength. x

The work that you and your fellow Educators do is to be applauded and cheered – managing to keep the minds of the future focused on learning with all of the obstacles in your way – hope the sun shines brightly on you this week in ways you never imagined!

Each day you find renewed strength and energy and that is beyond the physical. We will get through whatever we are facing, I look at it as inevitable. God will replenish us daily, Sister 🙏🏽💜

Things are certainly not easy are they Sis. Our youngest son and his whole family are confined to home as both he, his wife and the eldest son have Covid, their youngest is the only one who has not had it yet …but he can’t go to school either because no one can leave the house to take him!
My next door neighbour if off of work (she’s a teacher’s aid) because there is so much Covid at the school they have had to close for a while. Hubby and I have been so unwell for weeks now and we are exhausted. We do understand where you are coming from and send you all our love and support. You are a star 🌟 you are doing a wonderful job I hope you are getting lots of support at home 💜💜💜

Sis always in charge, and on duty! 😉 You are doing a wonderful job, but dont forget taking time for yourself. You will not believe, but our top story in Germany is “Queen Elizabeth wants Camilla to be known as Queen Consort”. Lol xx Michael

The pressure for teachers but also medical staff, police, and everyone in public jobs has been extreme. I hope it calms soon for you and everyone who is bravely hanging in for so long already.
I can so relate to this quote, Sis. Right now, I feel extremely under pressure, when even not COVID-related. However, my strength comes from taking one step at a time, walking from one moment to the next, and looking beyond the current situation by internalizing that this is only temporary. I imagine the big relief and regained energy once I reached the end of the valley.
    Much love, sis 💖

know that you are appreciated and i hope you are making sure that you take time to care for and appreciate yourself in all of this. as a fellow pre-k teacher, and as a teacher in general, i know it is an exhausting and stressful time to be teaching, and you are right, it takes an extra boost of strength to keep it all going.

I have had triumphs and failures when dealing with life’s struggles. For me, the strength comes from getting back up and trying again.
