#JusJoJan – January 14th, 2018 – Ultimatum

Day fourteen of #JusJoJan!

I’m going to try to write on each of the prompts!

Today the prompt is:

Your prompt for January 14th, 2018, brought to you by a new-to-me blogger, Itinerary Planner, is “Ultimatum.” Use it any way you’d like in your post. And make sure you visit Itinerary Planner at her blog, “Travel Itineraries: Travel the World for Less” (sounds good to me!) to read her post and say hi! Here’s her link:  https://traveltinerary.com/

Thanks, Itinerary Planner!

Ultimatum

There are times in life when you reach a stalemate.

Things are going neither here nor there.

You are stuck.

Maybe it is within a relationship, or at work. It could be an argument with a friend or a landlord.

It could even be an internal issue, where you are almost battling with yourself and not able to make your mind up.

This is where an ultimatum could come into play.

That whole, “Right, either this, or that,” kind of choice, is sometimes the only way you can move forward in life.

Ultimatum – seems such a harsh word, but you probably use them so often, you don’t realise that you are doing it. To the kids ” Right, either you eat your broccoli or there’s no computer games tonight!”; to your partner “You drink that next beer, and there’ll be no nookie for you tonight!”.

Okay, so they are tame examples, but types of ultimatums.

The more serious ones, regarding a job, or a relationship, financial demands, live or die…. they are out there too.

Sometimes the only way to move forward in a situation is to issue an ultimatum, Or to be the one making the choice.

And often, the choice made may not be the one you were secretly hoping for, but once it’s done, there can be closure for that situation.

It can feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders…

#SoCS Jan. 13/18 – #JusJoJan Day 13 – Random!

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is as follows: read closely. When you’re ready to sit down and write your post, look to the publication (book, newspaper, a permission slip from your kid’s teacher, whatever you find) closest to you, and base your post on the sixth, seventh, and eighth word from the beginning of the page. Enjoy!

I had no written things in front of, or around me when I sat down, so I looked on my phone and my Facebook was on. The first notification was what I counted as my reading material, so the words I got were ‘Big Up Your’! Oo-er!

Okay, so I could just write about the fantastic group Big Up Your Blog that I am a proud member of, seeing as that was what the notification was about… but that would be too easy!

Big Up Yourself
Because there are times no one else will.
And if you lose faith in yourself
How will you ever convince others
That you are worth it?

That’s it for me today!

Happy Saturday Peeps!

#JusJoJan – January 12th, 2018 – Aggravate

Day eleven of #JusJoJan!

I’m going to try to write on each of the prompts!

Today the prompt is:

Your prompt for January 12th, 2018, brought to you by Fandango, is “Aggravate.” Use it any way you’d like in your post. And make sure you visit Jim at his blog, “This, That and The Other” link: https://fivedotoh.wordpress.com/

Thanks, Fandango!

Aggravate

Sometimes, it doesn’t take much to aggravate a situation.

Sometimes, just your presence, your breathing can cause a meltdown.

I see it daily with my kids!

They are at that precious tweenage stage, where there is love, but a whole lotta hate!

And the number of times we end up having to referee slanging matches because “he just looked at me,” or “she touched my carpet”… sheesh!

It’s definitely a brother/sister thing. I remember being the same with my brother.

But we did work through it. The hate part turned to love too, and we can laugh at our childhood relationship.

It makes me realise what we must have put our parents through when we bickered over the most trivial things or screamed blue murder because someone changed the channel on the television!

My mum always says, in the nicest way possible… it’s payback time!

Thanks, Mum! Love you too!

See you tomorrow!

#JusJoJan – January 11th, 2018 – Humiliate

Day eleven of #JusJoJan!

I’m going to try to write on each of the prompts!

Today the prompt is:

Your prompt for January 11th, 2018, brought to you by the very wordy Jim, is “Humiliate.” Use it any way you’d like in your post. And make sure you visit Jim at his blog, “Jim Adams Author” link: https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/

Thanks Jim!

Humiliate

I’m not sure I like today’s word… because I hate the thought of humiliating someone, or being humiliated.

But it happens.

There are people out there who go out on a limb to create embarrassment and hurt to others, and then there are those who sometimes don’t realise their actions or words may cause a feeling of humiliation in another.

I often laugh off things that may cause humiliation… sometimes I don’t take it as an insult, but equally, I can speak before thinking, and before I know it, sensitive souls may have taken my words to heart, or thought I was out to hurt…

Why don’t I think first…?

So a Tanka:

You injure my pride
Take away my dignity
Humiliate me
Intentional actions hurt
Can I face the world again?

Ritu 2018
