#SoCS Feb 17/18 – His/Her

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “his/her(s).” Use one, use both, bonus points if you start your post with one and end with the other. Have fun!

His eyes tell a story no words can convey.
Of how life was when you were a certain way
The lies, the deceit, the hiding, the pain
Dreams full of sunshine, life filled with rain
The days filled with worry, what if they should discover
The fact that he had a handsome male lover
Those were the days when they had no rights
Heterosexual days, homosexual nights
By day a lawyer, staid Mr Smith
By night a woman, stunning Trixie Trix
He hid it well from family and wife
He hid it well, all through his life
And now he sits, an ageing old gent
Wondering where his whole life went
He looks at a photo of Trixie, in fur
And wishes he could go back to being her

Catch ya later Peeps!

Happy Saturday Peeps!

February 15 – Flash Fiction – Ice

Charli’s prompt this week:

February 15, 2018, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story on ice. It can be an event on ice, a game on ice or a drink on ice. Go where the prompt leads you…

As she poured the scotch, Paula could hear the cracks as the warmth of the liquid began the melting of the ice cubes in the tumbler.
If only she could be like that drink, and her presence the liquid that slowly caused the ice around his heart to melt…
She didn’t know why he was so cold towards her, they’d barely spoken twice, since he started coming to the bar where she worked, but she was determined.
He was a good looking guy, and by all appearances, well off too.
And she was a girl who needed looking after…
