Thanks, Spidey!

So, the Annual Bloggers Bash was yesterday, and I was all geared up for my talk, and the Panel Discussion. There was the small case of being nominated for the Best Overall Blogger to look forward to too, but I didn’t let that worry me.

The talk went well, the Panel Discussion passed in a flash, and then the final awards were called.

This time I was awarded Runner Up in the category I had been nominated in.

I was so pleased to be able to ‘pass my crown’ onto the next deserving winner, Linda, of Linda’s Book Bag.

Because, despite all the glory that came with the award last year, I also managed to put myself under immense pressure to be “The Best”.

And that wasn’t easy.

Instead, I have learned that being nominated is an honour, to be placed is a blessing, and to be part of the event is just sheer joy!

So, what do I take from this?

I shan’t pressure myself to be constantly ‘on’.

I will take a step back, breathe, enjoy life, not go AWOL, but not worry if I miss a challenge post, or if a week goes by and I haven’t posted something original. If I can’t reach you all on my reader, I know you’ll understand.

Superwoman needs a break too, sometimes!

And I know I’m still a winner in some eyes. ❤

Beautiful quote Spidey.

Princess Diana was a woman to aspire to be like. She had the world’s eyes on her, yet she didn’t quietly go about life, acting in a certain, expected way.

She had compassion and an empathy for the unfortunate.

You could see the initial fight she was struggling with, which her heart eventually won, showing her kindness to many causes, and being truly involved in many charitable ventures. Her head obviously was telling her to be sympathetic, yet distanced, after all, that was what the expectation from the Royal family.

I like to think that I lead from the heart too. I’m no Princess Di, but there are many times my head is telling me to go in one direction, but my heart is pulling me in the other.

Often, in life, the done thing is not actually the right thing. But because it has been done for so long in a particular fashion, no one questions it.

Maybe it’s time for us to all think of something we know we do that isn’t what we really want to be doing, and listen to our hearts instead….

It’s easy to be filled with self-doubt, presuming your dreams are not attainable.

But what if you could change that?

What if all it took was the belief that you could?

If you have that belief that you can achieve, you are already halfway there.

I’m holding on to that belief that my book will become a reality.

And in time, I am sure it will happen, and I’ll make it a success.

That is my belief anyway!

This, Spidey, just encapsulates what I am about.

I truly believe, and you will have ~~heard~~ read me ~~say~~ write this before, that pretty much everything can be turned around with a smile.

Sure, there are times when even the thought of turning the corners of your mouth upwards seem like an impossibility, but sooner or later you will be able to do it, and when you do, just feel the difference to your day.

When times are bad, sometimes a smile lightens your load.

A supportive smile can help another more than you know.

Smiling is good for your health. You can exercise a good few muscles, just by flashing a grin at a passerby – see, good feelings and calorie burning in one go!

Creativity is also meant to be affected by smiling.

A smile can help reduce stress.

Training yourself to smile actually trains your brain to react more positively rather than the natural instinct to take a negative stance.

Did you know smiles are contagious? If you smile at someone, something inside their brain wants to mirror you… just think, your smile could start a chain reaction of smilers all around you!
