WRITESPIRATION #106 52 WEEKS IN 52 WORDS WEEK 10 – The Big Birthday

Sacha’s back with a special prompt.. because, erm, well, she is getting a little more, ahem,  mature this week!

Your challenge is to write your story using the weekly theme/prompt and write it in just 52 words…. EXACTLY, no more, no less.
This week is a rather significant week for me so let’s theme the writespiration accordingly. This week, your prompt is:

The Big Birthday

writespiration-2017

Tomorrow is THE DAY!
Tomorrow it will all change,
Finally I’ll go from child to adult
My opinions will count.
I can do whatever I want!
It’s here!
nothing’s changed…
Mum’s still nagging me to get up.
I still have to go to college.
So much for my big birthday.
Eighteen? Over-rated!

Gone but Never Forgotten

So sad…. for those of you that know Johnna of All Things Chronic… 😢😢😢

Hi everyone. This is a short but very hard blog post to write. I just got news last night from Johnna Stahl’s family. If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you’ll know me and Johnna from All Things Chronic/Pain Kills were friends. I had the pleasure of meeting her in Albuquerque last July. In the last couple of months, me and other bloggers tried reaching out to Johnna to no avail. Johnna’s sister from Houston found my blog and contacted me. She emailed me to tell me Johnna passed away. At this time, I don’t know when she passed away or what happened. I will let you know any other details when they become available. A lot of emotions are going through my mind at this time. The blogging community has lost an amazing person. Johnna was a great friend to me and so many others here. I will never forget her or her…

Day 7 – #musicalmarch🎵

Day 7 of  #musicalmarch🎵!

A little bit of Butt Shaking today!

I always liked the mild Hip Hop, and ragga music. Did quite a mean Butterfly iin my day! Today Sir Mixalot features with Baby Got Back! Can I just mention that my kids think this is such a funny song… but they don’t understand the, ahem, finer lyrics!

And a little Hip Shaker from my Bhangra background! Lakh 28 Kudi Da by Diljit Dosanjh and Yo Yo Honey Singh!

Day 6 – #musicalmarch🎵

Day 6 of #musicalmarch🎵

Rain. This is what features today in both songs!

The first was one that I remember singing at school in music lessons! Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head by B J Thomas.

Anyone who knows Bollywood, knows that rain features heavily in some of the more seductive songs. Rain and wet sarees… Yes, I know! Tip Tip Barsa Paani from Mohra. (The pair from this film actually got married too, in real life!)

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 107

With the spirit of #musicalmarch, we thought we’d go a bit Dharmic today, a bit spiritual.

“You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day, unless you’re too busy. Then you should sit for an hour.” Old Zen Saying

In my Sikh religion, Simran, or meditation, and singing of the Lord’s name is important. There are so many ways to do Simran, but one person who I really admire, is Veer Manpreet Singh. He travels the country and world to sing his version of a Simran, Tuhi Tuhi, and it is so relaxing. I have his app on my phone so I can listen to it and sing along whenever I want that peace.

Please, enjoy.

🙏
