Good morning, Peeps! Monday, again!
Still on school break, so that is a plus!

I have two weeks left of the break. This week, Hubby Dearest is back at work. I have a couple of appointments to take the kids to, as well as trying to pop into school on at least one day, plus another appointment for the in-laws. I’ll try and find time to write… if my brain lets me, too! But, I am also meeting friends for tea/coffee one day, which I am looking forward to, too!
And while you’re here, did you sign up for my mailing list? I am in the middle of writing an exclusive Chickpea Curry Lit story for my subscribers, and there will be news, tips and even recipes! You know you want to join… go on! Click the pic below to sign up!

“The beautiful journey of today can only begin when we learn to let go of yesterday.”
~Steve Maraboli~
Something really meaningful there, Spidey, thank you.
It’s not as easy as it seems to let things go.
We can see people out there holding onto something that is slowly turning their life upside down, and we can advise them to let it go.
Because we know that is usually the best way to carry on with life.
But when that same wisdom is turned onto ourselves, sometimes we forget to take our own advice.
I’m generally pretty good at letting things go, but I am human, too, and sometimes I find that. I am holding onto stuff I cannot change unless others are willing, so that is something I have realised more and more recently.
I have to let it go.
I can deal with it when the time is right, but not worry myself sick over something I cannot alter.
The time will come.
Until then, I can unburden myself.
Get a little respite.
So, Peeps, are you able to let things go? 😊

Linda’s SoCS prompt…
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “the first 3 words of the first full sentence.” Okay, follow me here. This is what I want you to do: 1. Grab the closest book to you when you sit down to write your post. 2. Open it to a random page. 3. Locate the first complete sentence on that page. 4. Use the first three words of that sentence to start your post, then take it from there–write whatever comes to mind. That’s it! Have fun!
He scratches his head self-consciously. It always happens. The moment a child in class is known to have nits or lice, then the urge to itch hits…
He knows it is a peril of the job, but what can he do?
That girl was sitting, scratching like no one’s business, and the moment he got close enough, he could see them swarming around her her scalp.
He’d held himself together, not like the teaching assistant who he’d called over to confirm what he thought. She retched upon seeing the movement on her head.
Right, he thought. Off to phone the parents. And to tell the school office. Another nit letter needs to go out.
The class parents will be thrilled!
A BOTS story...

It’s been a big year for Lil Man.
A-level exams sat. Now, you have to remember that his year group of children never sat their GCSEs due to the pandemic, so these were the first official exams they were faced with.
It was nerve-wracking for us as parents, too, since with all the home-schooling and online learning, education became hard to understand for many.
Were these kids prepared? How could we help them? Why did learning and revising look so different to when it was our time, thirty-odd years ago?
Still, they came and went.
He turned eighteen in June after sitting his last exam, so he is officially an adult.
It’s a strange time, legally able to do so much more, yet turning eighteen doesn’t automatically make a boy a man.
That comes from life experiences.
We’re still trying to find a decent driving instructor for him, so he can get his licence. Living where we are, it is important for him to retain his independence, as the public transport available to us is lean.
But yesterday, it was result day.
He’s not had the easiest of journeys in the Sixth form. He loved two subjects and hated the third that he had to take.
In fact, one of that subject’s teachers was not the best person to nurture him. She led him to believe he was going to fail.
So we held out hope that he at least got the lowest pass grade for that subject.
At least, that would still be three A-level-style qualifications. The other two, he was confident in.
We weren’t home yesterday, plus he really didn’t want to go to school to get his results; however, after a few hours, they were available online…
And he did GOOD!
In fact, he overachieved with that subject he was destined to fail!
So my Lil Man ended up with good grades!
Take that, doubters and haters!
Now he’s in the process of sorting a higher-level apprenticeship out.
This is a way to begin your work life while obtaining qualifications while you earn and not burden yourself with a lifetime of debt through a university degree.
He’s got his head screwed on, my Lil Man.
And we are very proud parents.
Definitely closer to being able to be called a man.
