Infinity Dreams award

It happened again, another lovely reader of mine, Sabine, nominated me for an award, the Infinity Dreams Award, this time.

It’s been a busy time in the life of Ritu, and in the spirit of giving back, I wanted to reblog the award post, as I can’t fully accept it… But no reblog button!

Sabine!!!!!!

Still, I can link to it, so you, my peeps, can read about Sabine, so here goes, click HERE!!! Andfollow another lovely blog too!!!

Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge #65 – Clear & Harp – linking to a hardly political blog-cast!

Monday heralds the Haiku challenge our dear friend Ronovan sets each week. Check it out here!

The words, Clear and Harp… Again Ronovan, you are totally testing us!!!

Election Fever

It doesn’t matter

How clearly I state my views

You harp on anyway…

Ritu 2015

A little background to this haiku this time.

We are in the throes of election fever here. Not General elections, but the time to select the new Mukh Sevadar, or President, of the Sikh Temple here.

It’s annoying enough, getting bombarded with literature and visits at every turn, from well wishing supporters of various candidates, to family and friends who have their own agenda with regards to who they support.

But to have scandalous videos, and mudslinging happening between the two candidates…. Or their parties… That is unacceptable.

We are voting for someone to lead our temple for the next two years, a place of worship, a source of sanctity, not to help people with their own personal gains. This role is pretty big. We are one of the largest Gurdwaras in Europe. We need someone who will act for the good of the Sangat, the worshippers, creating a temple and atmosphere of spirituality, and serenity, not someone who point fingers, or wants gratitude.

I’ll name no names. I’m not swaying votes with my piece.

All I know is I have read lots, and it’s becoming hard to decide what is truth, and what is a pile of lies…

Truly, it has become politics within religion. Manifestos, debates, promises. All I want, and what most of those I know want, is a Gurdwara where we can go to, to pray, to soak in the beauty of the Sikh religion, to feel tranquility….

Ok, hopping off my soapbox now!!!!

The Wakawafu Award

image

I hear what you might be saying…
“What on earth is that??” I asked the same thing initially!
Never heard of this one so had to make sure this was formally accepted, and properly!!
So, thank you heaps, to Sandra, of A Momma’s View, for considering, and nominating me for this award!

What is it?
This is quoted directly from the award creator, Wakawafu…

β€œThe idea behind this award is to motivate other fellow bloggers and to act as a token of appreciation- just as we ourselves felt motivated and really felt good about what we do. It is a small gesture that we hope goes a long way. One other thing we will be doing however, when the award is awarded, we will be posting a link to the nominated blog on our own website, so that people can actually find these blogs. I feel that there are so many awesome people to chat with who are blogging too and it can be hard to find people easily, so I hope through this people who want to find new bloggers can do so more easily- just comment on the Wakuwafu award page when you receive it and we will put up a a link to your blog. The rules of the blog won’t be too long, but they will let you get to know one another more!”

What a lovely idea!

Here are the rules:

* Thank the person who has nominated you and provide a link to their blog.Β βœ”
* Choose any 3 things you would like to say about yourself to your fellow bloggers.Β βœ”
* Answer the 3 questions set by your nominator.βœ”
* Think up 3 questions you would like to ask the people you nominate.Β βœ”
* Give one piece of advice to your fellow bloggers.Β βœ”

So, I’ve given my heartfelt thanks…
On to 3 things about me…

1) I’m a firm believer in looking after yourself, so you are fit and well, and happy in yourself. Only then are you capable of helping and looking after others. Hence I am writing this post at the Nail Shop, being pampered!!
2) OMG!!! This morning I found my FIRST white Eyelash!!!!!!! 40! What are you doing to me??!!
3) Shhh.. Don’t tell anyone but I might just be getting into Football… Now I have a goal scoring son!!!

And now the 3 questions I was set to answer…

Your favorite home cooked meal?
What makes it so special?

A good wholesome roast dinner! Yes I know I’m Indian, but I’ve always loved a roast… More than a curry! It’s filling and just YUM!!!

Camping or hotel? Why?

Hotel, for sure!!!!! I think that if I am going away, I want pampering, not slumming it!

If you’d win in the lottery, what’s the first thing you’d do?

Pay off our mortgage, so we are free of the bidmggest debt, then we can do good after!

My Nominations…
Have to be my Blogily siblings!
Big sis Judy of Edwinas Episodes
Big sis Erika of Erika Kind
Big bro Rich of Wafflemethis

And your questions…
1) What do you prefer to write? Fiction or poetry?
2) Family or Friends?
3) What place do pets have in your life?

And finally, my advice to bloggers…
Please never let your blogging become a chore, stay true to yourself, and enjoy your whole experience! WordPress can be a wonderful place… Let it stay that fun place, not somewhere you feel you HAVE to come to… That’s a surefire way to kill your creativity!

Spidey’s Serene Sundays – Part 34

image

OK it’s a little later than usual, but here goes…

Boredom is the feeling that everything is a waste of time; serenity, that nothing is.
~ Thomas Szasz.

Happy sunny Sunday all! 🌞:)
