Swanning around!

We took a stroll along the prom this hot afternoon, and happened upon the swans…

image

The sprogs enjoyed feeding them, though we hadn’t any bread, thanks to a lovely lady there who had a whole loaf, and donated a few slices!

image

Lil Man was a little afraid!

image

Even on higher ground they followed!

image

Lil Princess loved it, she was right there in the thick of things!

image

Now he was a particularly tall, majestic fellow!

image

And we were even blessed to see a pair of black swans!

The same yet oh so different
Me and my forever mate
Our big white cousins rush ahead for bread…
We’ll hang back and wait.

Hope your Saturday was beautiful Peeps!

But I Smile Anyway...

Impatient! And An Update!!

image

Sometime soon…
The news will come…
That my cousin’s wife
Is finally a mum!

But oh the wait
To hear some news
Boy or girl?
I sit and muse

Oh phone, please ring
Or WhatsApp, beep
I’m staring at it
Nothing, not a peep!

I think I need
To just keep busy
To stop myself getting
In such a tizzy

Baby will come
When it’s time is here
And I know that I’ll
Definitely shed a tear

My little cousin brother
Becoming a dad
I can’t quite believe it
It seems quite mad!

But still I wait
Impatiently
To coo over a pic
Of he or she!

They are far away in Australia… It’s baby number 1… We all know it can take time, but still, I just can’t wait!!!!!

IT’S A BOY!!! SO EXCITED!!!

But I Smile Anyway...

Off Radar… A Little

OK so I’m home now… Away from my childhood reminiscences…:'(
But…
I got my Pops and Mum with me! Yay!! 🙂
So, forgive me if I’m not too active, post-wise the next couple of days, but I have entertaining to do, and a party to go to tomorrow night!
I have a couple of things that need responding to too, which will all be done, I promise!!!
But for now… See Ya Later Peeps!!!
And just remember….

Mother’s memories

image

I’m home, with mum and dad, and the first thing mum did, after lunch, was to get her old sarees out, from her wedding… Beautiful silks, chiffons, embroidery and prints.

image

“I’m not being morbid,” she says, “but let’s go through things, so I know what you like, and , you know, when the time comes, there’ll be a package of stuff for you, that means something!”
Sarees from her wedding, with stories behind many of them too…

image

See that green embroidered one? She was taken to the shops by her in laws to choose something. She fell in love with that one. It cost 600 /= Kenyan shillings… About £6 in money now.
She was told it was too expensive, but, rumour has it, Pops was there and overheard the exchange…
Miraculously the Saree appeared in her gifts after the wedding.
She is convinced he went back and got it, and when I asked Pops today, he just smiled, and said I remember the conversation…
Romance isn’t dead, see!!!

image

And then we found the top from her wedding outfit… It looks as sparkly as is it were new!

I’m not morbid, neither is my mum… Sharing the stories behind the outfits means when I get old, and want to pass them on to my daughter, there will be some meaning to everything!

image

Then she pulled this one outta her box of tricks… A framed poem my parents had given me as I entered adulthood…
Another one to pass on to my little madam… When she grows!
I ❤ family 🙂

image
And just needed to slip this one in too!
❤ you mum! 😘

But I Smile Anyway...

Perfect afternoon!

image

An ice cream in hand
Kids playing in the park
A fine breeze blowing
It just hits the mark!
Yesterday has been and gone
Today’s another day
Tomorrow well, we’ll wait and see
What that has to say!

image

I do love my annoying, stubborn, cheeky, funny, cute, amazing kids!!!

But I Smile Anyway...
