Ritu’s Healthy Eating Part 36 – #icandothis

wp-1492120543707.It’s been another week of excesses… I actually can’t wait to get back to school, term time equals more restraint with food!

Before I disclose any foodie pics, the damage…

Another 1lb on… but no fear, I am still below the ‘ceiling’ weight of 9 and a half stone that I have given myself!

And the photos show the mostly decent stuff I ate this week.

I really need to do something exercise-wise now! Today we are off to Howlett’s, which is a lovely wildlife park with all sorts of animals and lotsn of walking! And tomorrow I have a three hour walk for the Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan Festival. Plenty of exercise!

Food tip today, instead of a recipe as I am a little stretched for time…

Try and eat your fruit before meals. It digests quicker them. Fruit after meals will sit on top of the other food you have consumed, and turn to sugar, causing weight gain rather than loss!

So, until next week, Peeps! I hope to report back with much better eating habits next time! Until then, enjoy Easter, and try not to indulge in too many chocolate eggs!

Ritu’s Healthy Eating – Week 35 #icandothis

Let me start by saying “Oops!”

No maintaining here this week I’m afraid! Too much fun, and eating plenty meant a gain of 1.5lbs but as I am still way below my 9 and a half stone limit, I think that’s ok!

I have enjoyed much food with my parents, eating naughtily as well as healthy!

As you an see, a mix of naughtiness, and good stuff!

Because of the holidays we are eating more relaxed, and I am quite happy with that. I am encouraging the kids to walk more, so hopefully that will be a good thing this week!

No recipe this week, purely because I haven’t the time!

Enjoy your Healthy Eating this next week Peeps!

Another week down, and guess what… I stayed the same… again!

Managing this maintaining pretty well to be honest!

Here are a few meals I had this week…

And as  it is Comic Relief today, and we were all wearing red for Red Nose Day, I treated myself to a new top… my first size 10 top in a long time!

And today’s recipe will be …

Wrap Pizza and ‘Slimming World’ Friendly Chips

20161127_190119

For 1 person

For Chips

1 potato peeled or withskin, chopped into chips.

Frylight Spray

  • Preheat oven to 220 degrees celsius
  • Parboil chips for 5 minutes.
  • Drain and allwo to stand for around 10 minutes.
  • Spray baking tray with Frylight spray, spread chips evenly and spray oil lightly again. Season with salt and pepper, and place in oven for 30 minutes.
  • Turn occasionally.

For Pizza

One tortilla wrap (I use BFree Wraps as they can be used as one of your fibre healthy extras in a day)
Tomato Puree
Passata
Dried mixed herbs
Whatever topping you want
Grated cheese (I use 40g light cheddar as it is a calcium healthy extra in Slimming World)

  • Place wrap on baking tray
  • Mix a little passata with tomato puree, season with salt and pepper and add a sprinkle of mixed herbs. This makes a simple pizza sauce base. Spread on the wrap
  • Top with your choice of toppings. I use lots of vegetables, like tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, sweetcorn and add cooked chicken too.
  • Sprinkle cheese on top and scatter a few mixed herbs on top
  • Place in oven for 10 minutes until the cheese has melted and is turning golden

Plate up and enjoy!

I hope you like the choice of recipe this week! As I mentioned last week, if there is anything you want me to post a recipe for, from my previous pictures, just drop me a line and let me know!

Off to a baby shower tomorrow, so will catch up soon!

Stay fit, healthy and safe Peeps!!!

Ritu’s Healthy Eating Week 31 – #icandothis

Hey all! I am back with another dose of food pictures and an update in the healthy eating life of Moi!

I have been at home again all week due to the whiplash, and that has resulted in me cooking all my meals properly at home, but the downside? I have ended up being a little naughty too. Snacking is far too easy when you are home, and there are naughty things to choose from as well! Chocolate covered rice cakes are okay if you have one or two, but not a whole packet! The same goes for the McVitites Thin Digestives! And if you have scones, or hot cross buns at home, well then, excuse my French, but you’re b*ggered!

Still, here is the good stuff I ate!

Oh, and we were finally able to cut Lil Princess’s cake, 2 weeks late, thanks to my accident, but better late than never!

Petula Pug!

And as usual, Friday morning and the scales beckoned.

1.5lb on.

But, I am not too worried! I over reached on my target last week, and this week I am actually at the target weight I set myself, so I am totally happy with that!

Still feeling achy, but not as tired this week. Exercise, apart from the gentle stretches I have to do, is still not on the cards, but I will slowly get back into it!

Until next week Peeps!

I’m thinking I may start to post some recipes each week now, to share some of the simple but healthy dishes I have started to make! What do you think?

Ritu’s Healthy Eating – Week 30 #icandothis

It’s been a roller coaster of a week, emotionally, as you all know, what with funerals, and life-threatening accidents, then prolonged time off at home, with the threat of grazing too much… But here’s my food…There was convenience, a little naughtiness, and pancakes!

And how did I do? Well, I’m not gonna recommend the Stop The Motorway Diet, but …

I lost 2lbs!

So that is 25.5lb off with Slimming World, 30.5lb off in total, and I smashed my second Slimming World target!

As I said, I don’t recommend shock and emotion for weight loss in the long run… but it worked!

Now all of you have a wonderful week Peeps! Luck and love, and lots of lovely healthy food! ❤
