One-Liner Wednesday – #1LinerWeds – Baby

“Nothing beats the feeling of a baby’s hands, or the sound of a baby’s laugh.” – Ritu

Had a lovely 24 hours with my best friend and her baby, my honorary niece… almost makes me want another, then I experienced the restless sleep associated with the ever hungry little people, and I think again…. For a visit and a few days, fine. To do it all again? I don’t think so!

#SoCS Oct. 21/17 – Season

Linda’s back with another great #SoCS prompt!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “season.” Use the word “season,” add a suffix to it, or write about one. Bonus points if the first and last word of your post is a season or a seasoning. Extra bonus points if you have pictures. Enjoy!

I penned a poem for this!

Spring arrives
With a bright new beginning
Use basil or mint
Just stick a few leaves in

Spices, Spice Mix, Colorful, Curry

Summer blazes
What spices to put in?
Use ginger, cilantro
Or even cumin

Spices, White, Pepper, Nutmeg, Cloves

Autumn brings evenings
Bathed early in gold
Use fennel or turmeric
To combat that cold

Spices, Cinnamon Sticks, Odor, Aroma

Winter creeps up on us
Colder than ever
Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves
Great together

Spice, Chiles, Paprika, Chili, Powder

Seasons come
Bringing flavours new
To spruce up your salad
Or your stew

Dinner, Burger, Salt And Pepper, Meal

And no matter what
The season or weather
Don’t ever forget
Your salt and your pepper!

Seasons, Four Seasons, Tree, Nature

One-Liner Wednesday – #1LinerWeds –

“When you wake up with a headache… It’s not the sign of a good day…” – Ritu

Yes Peeps, that’s me today…

Went to bed with a headache, slept really well, woke with a headache… popped a pill and waiting for it to work it’s magic now…

Please class, be nice to me today!

#SoCS Oct. 14/17 – Well

Linda’s #SoCS prompt this week:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “well.” Use it any way you like. Have fun!

Well now, that’s a prompt and a half! Well. Use it any way you like.

Do I think of words with well in them, like swell or jewellery? Shall I write about disembowelling or wellbeing? How about farewells or dwellings? What about being well or unwell? Or do I think of the great British weather and discuss wellies, or wellington boots, as they are officially known?

I’m really not sure… my stream of consciousness is veering towards unconsciousness, to be honest! Not from boredom, but more from exhaustion. I’ve had a fraught week at work, and this weekend could not have come soon enough. And so, I leave you with my disjointed, tired thoughts, and hope for a better, calmer week next week!

Happy Saturday Peeps!

One-Liner Wednesday – #1LinerWeds – Conditioning?

“When it’s my birthday, only children with faces like mine can come” – 3 Year Old School Child

This was a slightly worrying statement made by a three-year-old child in school… He wasn’t talking about them having to be young and his age, or cute, but when he said f”aces like mine”, he went on to add “no brown faces.”

If that isn’t conditioning, then what is? Surely at three, children shouldn’t even really be aware of differences like that in away? Of course most of them can describe themselves and others by colour, but to put such a negative spin on skin colour at three… Me no likey…

And yet he is my friend… Brown face… er, hello?
