“Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.” Anonymous.
I needed that reminder today Spidey!
I find myself needing a whole lot of patience at the moment, what with a teen and tween, busy work schedule, as well as an invalid Hubby Dearest at home who, if he was mobile, would be climbing the walls, and is suffering cabin fever as he can’t get out and about at all.
Usually, I can keep up with everything, but at the moment, as well as what I usually do, I am being solo taxi for all the activities that the kids have, as well as for Hubby, when he needs to have a change of scenery.
I don’t sleep soundly as I am constantly on alert incase he needs anything in the middle of the night.
And of course, I can’t forget Sonu Singh.
Since he’s been on his diet, he has suddenly become more aware of the earlier daylight and will start his miaowing and call for food from 5am…
All this makes for a rather tired Ritu, and I will fall asleep early(ish) for a fitful hours, before waking, and waiting for His Lordship to get upstairs too, then sleep. On the weekend, the moments I get to sit down end up with me snoozing at the wrong times, and then I wake in a panic as I have to get the kids someplace at a certain time.
Then there is the inevitability that one of them will have forgotten something, making my journey twice as long…
Then, well, anything at all, however little will be like the straw that broke the camels back, and I explode! It’s like any patience I have had with invalid and annoying youngsters vanishes!
It’s not just Momster that comes out but an emotional wreck who gets teary too…
But if I had a little patience, and took a step back, thought about what I needed to do, the hows and wheres and whyfors, I’d be able to cope.
Easy to say… But I’ll try to do!
So… tell me, are you patient?
