Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 391 – Another Year Older

“Wisdom can be found in the most unexpected places.”

Ritu Bhathal

Thank you, Spidey, for giving me a chance to use my own quote, today!

It is the day after my 47th birthday, and I wonder whether I have gained any more wisdom with the addition of that extra year.

Well, I was on good old Facebook, and there was one of those quizzes where it chucks random statements or facts out, allegedly about you.

Usually, they are just silly, but once in a while they throw you something to think upon.

This was apparently a lesson I have learned from the past year.

And, oh my goodness, what truth!

It takes a while, I think that for this to register in our minds, but it’s true that over the last couple of years, I have realised that I am who I am, and I am a good person.

We all have traits that may not be liked by everyone, but when I take everything into account, I am happy with me.

I am happy with who I am.

I am happy with how I live my life.

I am happy with my thoughts and opinions.

I am happy with my preferences.

I am happy with my grey hair.

I am happy even with a little extra weight on myself, right now.

And there will always be people out there with toxic opinions.

But I really don’t care!

And that. is the wisdom I gleaned from a Facebook Quiz, yesterday!

So, are you able to accept who you are and live in peace with yourself?

Wishing you a wonderfully peaceful Sunday, Peeps!

Wednesday Wisdom

wpid-fb_img_1438793498680.jpgBe the bigger person peeps, know you are the better one too, by walking away.

I often tell my pupils, when they are little and whinging about someone being silly towards them, “Ignore them, don’t let them know they are affecting you. It will sink in that they are not important enough to affect you soon enough, then they will stop too.”

I have often had to tell my own children too.  I want them to learn to pick their battles, and realise some are just not worth fighting. Be the bigger person, and walk on to better things.

Have a wonderful Wednesday Peeps!

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 92

“You don’t need someone to complete you. You only need someone to accept you completely.” – Anon

Seeing as it’s our anniversary weekend this weekend, Spidey found something that kinda ties in with that.

A true thought.

Why do we spend so much time trying to find that missing piece? That one person who will make us feel whole?

It is really a wild goose chase, as we are already whole. Each of us is different, and we’re made up differently physically, as well as emotionally. As much as we look different, we act differently too.

That’s what makes us unique, who we are.

Something I always like to say is that “We are all imperfectly perfect, in our own way.”

Within each of us there is something amazing.

But there is often something not quite so nice lurking in there too.

Love, be it romantic, familial, or friendship, is all about acceptance. If you love someone, you love them for all their flaws, as well as their perfections.

And if they truly love you back, they are accepting you, just as you are.

I am by no means perfect. Heck, ask my Hubby Dearest! But then neither is he!

We have our arguments and bickering sessions, as well as sickening displays of full-on love and affection.

He loves my curly hair, and hates it when I want to get it cut.

He isn’t a big fan of social media, yet he knows it is something that helps me, with my blog and writing, and keeping up with my countless family members!

He’d rather rush in and out of the shops, and can’t understand when I chatter away to people.

But these are just things that are part of me. And he totally accepts them, just like I accept him for who he is, and what he is.

I was me before, I am still me now. Complete. But with an amazing extension attached, that is ‘him’! (And vice versa!)

Have a happy Sunday Peeps!

Enjoy your day, and be complete!!
