Sue’s #WritePhoto Prompt this week:
I thought I’d continue the adventures of Barbie and Ken.
“Fancy meeting you here.”
Ken stopped in his tracks. He knew that voice, and it wasn’t from one of the Scottish locals he’d met since getting here.
There was a distinct Essex twang to the voice.
Joey was up ahead, chatting with some girls they’d met on this Woodland Walk they’d signed up to.
Talking to women wasn’t on the top of his list, to be honest, this weekend, so he’d let them carry on, keeping his thoughts for company.
“Penny for them.”
Sindy stepped in line with him, matching his pace.
“Sindy! What are you doing here?”
“Oh, I just fancied a break. And look who I bump into! Where’s Barbie?”
Ken looked down. “It’s just me and Joey. She stayed back home.”
“Hmmm, boy’s holiday then! I get it… While the cat’s away, and all that, is it?” She looked at him conspiratorially.
“Oh, no! Nothing like that. I just needed some space. Some time to myself. Joey just tagged along. Any excuse to get away.”
Sindy threaded her arm through his. “I’m a good listener, you know..”
Ken looked down at her hand resting on his arm, and pulled away.
“Er, thanks, yeah. Oh, I need to catch up with Joey, or else he’s going to disappear with those girls, and he’s got my hotel room key card!”
Without a backwards glance, he sped up, leaving Sindy behind.
She got out her phone, opened a new text message and typed ‘He’s alone, not taken the bait yet…” and pressed send…To be continued…

Depends on if Sindy is working with Barbie (to see if Ken really is devoted to Barbie) or with Joey (because Sindy wants to steal Ken away from Barbie).

I’m sure there are. A rival for Barbie’s hand wanting to get Ken out of the way. Sindy is a spy from another country (or company) trying to make Ken fail (or gain vital information). Sindy is delusional and there is no conspirator. Ken and Barbie’s relation is not physical and Sindy works for Ken’s psychiatrist who thinks Ken needs to be in a more physical relationship (a more x-rated version of what I just said). And on and on. Waiting to see what the “real” story is…
