Tidbit Tuesday – ‘It should be 18+ but isn’t’ edition!

It came yesterday…The letter!

You know how much I am dreading this time…See here!, and we have also already had a taster! Check that out too!

Yup, today the Sex Ed lessons started!  He is in fits of giggles at the thought of everything that the teacher says! Today they drew the dreaded diagrams of a penis, vagina and “boobies”!

The next step was kinda a brain storming session to see what everyone knew already, correct or otherwise…

Apparently the Birds And the Bees has something to do with SEX! Which is “Disgusting!” though when I asked him, he said he didn’t know why it was disgusting! Oh and kissing is involved. And you need sex for a baby, and sex is basically a boy and a girl… as in gender!

Though, and don’t ask me where this came from, definitely not the teacher, but one of the (10 year old) boys was telling the others that he goes to strip clubs!!!! I mean, seriously??!! How does he even know about them at that age!!!!??? Lil Man told me “Girls get naked!! And strip!! That’s why it’s called a strip club!”…

Oh my… a little chat at school today, and this is the conversation I end up having with my boy… about strip clubs!

WHAT!!!!????

Wowzer!!!! I am dreading it, but am actually also intrigued, as to what the next session will involve!!!!

And a perfect song for this trying time in our family life…

I shall keep you updated Peeps! I think I will be learning new things too!!!!!!!!

But I Smile Anyway...

Sports Week!

Peppa sportsIt’s been a busy week, this week, school life is always crazy for a teacher, and I have been busy with more home visits to some of my new pupils starting in September…. seriously teeny tots, some not even three yet! And a meet and greet session at the nursery for some of them too!

I also had a fantastic course all to do with the Early Years Foundation Stage of education, a refresher for professionals going into this young age group after a while. That was fun, apart from the fact that the venue was exactly on the junction that was closed on the M20, thanks to Operation Stack…(strike action to do with lorry drivers, and stuff…I don’t really understand, but what I do know, is that they are seriously impacting on the lives of many of the locals!) so I had a double journey time to the place… still I got there, and that’s what matters, and we were able to leave earlier too, which was cool, as some others were going to have an awful journey home because of these closures!

And at school it has been Sports Week. Lil Princess had her Sports Day on Monday, and for the first time, I couldn’t be there, but Hubby Dearest was there for her, which was wonderful!

Lil Man had his Sports Day on Thursday, a full on full day of sports, to which again, I couldn’t come, but Hubby Dearest managed to be there for.  He even took part in the Father’s Race, and won! (apparently there was some interesting acrobatics involved in his win too… Lil Man burst into my classroom, to tell me “Daddy won the race and he did somersaults!” Apparently he lost his balance right at the end and  more or less fell, gambolled, got on his feet again, and ended up first!!!! Classic! Oh he won’t live that down! The amount of people, staff, and parents who told me of his ‘impressive’ performance in the race was hilarious!  I wonder if anyone got a video??!! I would pay to see it!

And in my class, I arranged a mini sports day for my two little classes! We had a few games for them to go round in teams to play, and at the end they all got medals, and a certificate that I had created! It was the first time they had done this, so it was lovely! The kids really enjoyed themselves, and were so proud of their medals, as they left nursery, showing them off excitedly to their mummies and daddies as they were picked up!

I do love making those children smile, and be happy! I hope I can carry on doing that too! It kinda makes all the early starts, late finishes at school and late nights worth while!

I’m In Love All Over Again!

The day I have been waiting for, for, well, 7 months was finally here today!

I was able to meet, hold, cuddle, play with, and generally love my baby nephew, our Finnjabi baby!
Oh how I have longed for this day!

They were over from Finland for a few short days, on the sad business of my brother’s best friend’s funeral, and stayed on a few more days, and we wanted to meet them all, so off we went to London today.

It was a most emotional day for me… I have countless ‘nephews’ and ‘nieces’ via my 6000 (slight exaggeration!) cousins, and their kids, but my Lil Finnjabi is MINE! By that I mean, my real flesh and blood, my brother’s offspring, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a tad emotional the moment I saw him!

He looks at people he hasn’t met before, and the sign of approval is a touching of the face, and we all got that from him! But 6 hours wasn’t enough! That’s not even an hour for each month he’s been alive!

We were with him through 2 messy mealtimes, a trip to the park, and bath time.

I wish I could post a photo of him, but like me, his parents are not fans of putting personal pics of children on any media, so I can’t even physically share him with you, but I can describe!

Big, huge brown eyes twinkling from a cute little tanned skinned face, cheeks not so chubby, but enough for you to want to eat them up. A perfect nose and the gummiest smile, showing two teeth, flashing constantly! Shiny brown hair that naturally created a mohican and frames his beautiful face.

He’s a smiler, a giggler, and sitting in his bouncy chair, he waggles his legs manically to bounce himself, and he loves to growl like a bear!

The kids and Hubby Dearest are as infatuated as I am, and when it was time to go, we physically had to tear ourselves away!

But my high light was at the end when I got a few precious moments with him, no sharing, after his bath, and he kept on grabbing my face with his little hands, and pulling me down, so he could kiss/eat my nose, cheeks and lip! My brother managed to get a video of that, it’s so cute!!! As I said in my post title, I’m in love again!!!!

Counting down the next time we meet, which I know will be in October, unless we manage to arrange a trip out to them in August!!!

In other business, the scratch is better, but I definitely twisted my ankle in our dramatic rescue of the Cat Called Sonu Singh, last night, when I fell off the chair!

Birthdays Birthdays! It’s all going mad here!

turning 10

As I wake this morning, I will be very aware that I am getting older…

This morning, my son, Lil Man, reaches his first big milestone age.  He’s hit double figures today, 10!

Where did that time go? How did that happen? Surely not??!!  But he’s my Lil Man!!! He is a little person truly, and doesn’t look like he should be 10, so it makes it even harder to comprehend!

10 son

I still feel like it was yesterday, when we were struggling to conceive, and then that day arrived when he couldn’t wait, and dive-bombed into our life 3 weeks earlier than expected!  It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions from then, but the biggest one is love, unconditional love for our Lil Man.

heart

I love this little man so much, and he will be there, my Lil Man, forever and a day! Happy birthday son, your mummy, and daddy are so proud of you and love you so much!

Wait, it doesn’t finish there…

10 years ago, I managed to give my Mum the best present ever… something that I don’t think I could have even planned… you see the day my Lil Man dive-bombed into our lives was already my wonderful mum’s birthdate!  So, what a present we gave her that day!

mum bday poem

And truly, a heartfelt ‘Happy birthday’ to you too, my inspiration, and the mother I aspire to be like too! Love you to the moon and back mum!

That’s my mum, a true vintage!

So please join me in wishing my Lil Man and mum a very happy birthday Peeps! I’ll eat cake on your behalf! 😛

Sonu Singh Had A Sting… Oh, And Poor Lil Man…!

Lil Sonu Singh was feeling affectionate this morning and voluntarily climbed on my Minionated Pyjama lap. I love those moments!

When I got home from work, he was outside with Hubby Dearest. I got outside, just in time  to see him animatedly chase a bee, and pounce, then get stung…

Poor baby, he was constantly licking his paw, and wouldn’t let us look at it for ages…I saw a slight swelling and we cleaned as best we could, and now he is chilling,  paw in the air, on my bed!

Talking of my babies with injuries, Lil Man was off school as he got a football kicked smack bang in the middle of his face yesterday, total accident, but basically he has mild concussion.  So off school today, and probably tomorrow. He was up at 4am with headache and blurry vision… So now he is thankfully asleep again, but I have been up for 18 hours now, fitted in drop offs, a day at placement school , and the rest of mummy stuff, while Hubby Dearest had Lil Man, and took him to the Hospital.
Forgive me if I make no sense…!
