One-Liner Wednesday – #1LinerWeds Satisfied

“Enough is as good as a feast.” Sir Thomas Malory/Mary Poppins

Love this quote. My English teacher Mrs Morris, RIP, always used to say it to us in class if we had a fit of giggles and the laughter didn’t stop!

But it’s true, isn’t it?

As long as we have enough of whatever to satiate our hunger/needs, there is no point in taking/wanting more.

That just becomes greed.

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 184 – The End… or is it?

“All good things must come to an end.”

Geoffrey Chaucer

Thanks, Spidey.

Indeed, things are wrapping up for us here now.

I go back to school in teacher mode on Thursday. Where did the holidays go?!

An emergency 10 days in Birmingham with Pops, which was a blessing too, as we had even more bonding time, 2 weeks of keeping the kids occupied, buying school uniforms and discovering the joys of the Wish shopping app (It’s great! Have you tried it?), and then a week away with my family.

And now it’s the last weekend, a long one, as it’s a bank holiday too, (got to name the uniforms!) then two days of tying up loose ends and then back to the grindstone.

But I’m happy.

Because though the holiday will be coming to an end, there will be the challenges of a new academic year, in a newly academised school, new young children and minds to fill with the wonders of the world of learning!

And Lil Man starts his journey to GCSE, whilst Lil Princess will be in her last year of primary too.

It’s a big year, bring it on!

Tell me, what new beginnings are you looking forward to? 😘

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps ❤ And enjoy your week!

One-Liner Wednesday – #1LinerWeds Growing Shadows

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 183

“I think togetherness is a very important ingredient to family life.”

Barbera Bush

Thanks, Spidey.

Togetherness really is the epitome of a close-knit family.

I feel blessed to be part of one of those families.

It means you don’t just get together in times of joy, but you rally around when times are tough too.

Just like with my Pops. I was so fortunate that our family is so close, that when I couldn’t be there straight away, there was someone else to help out.

(By the way, many of you asked, Pops is doing so well now. It’s been six weeks since the surgery, and finally, the wound has fully healed and the dressings are off. He’s walking, albeit slower than usual, doing his yoga breathing exercises, but nothing more strenuous, and he has even managed to drive a short distance. thanks to you and all your good wishes, and the care of both family and professionals, he is more or less the Pops of before!)

And now we are off to forge a little togetherness too, our little family of four.

As of tomorrow, we will be officially on holiday. Taking time to be together, just us, and enjoying each others company, as well as some relaxation time.

Don’t worry, I’m making no sweeping statements about not being here because you know me, somehow I’ll still end up writing something, or answering comments 😜

But electronics and social media will be at a minimum (well, that’s the plan, anyway!) and family time will be at the forefront of everything.

We will sit together and eat, do activities together, spend time with each other, and create memories too.

What do you do as a family, to ‘forge a little togetherness’? 😘

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps ❤ And enjoy your week!

One-Liner Wednesday – #1LinerWeds – Sleep-less-over

How come they get the fun of the sleepover, yet I get the joys of the sleepless night?
