#WritePhoto – Dark

Sue’s #WritePhoto Prompt this week:

Though darkness surrounds us on the grounds, it’s always worth looking not only up but down too, because above, you can see the prospect of brilliance, the light breaking through the clouds, and below, the reflection of that brightness, to keep you going, even on your lowest days.
A silver lining
Every cloud has, so they say,
Beauty behind it
Reflections from that beauty
Give us reason to stay strong
Each moment is like the flip side of a coin.  For every up, there is a down. For every high, there is a low. Just remember, down is not necessarily a bad thing… for from down below do the shoots of strong trees sprout, growing upwards towards the light.

#SoCS Feb 24/18 – Door

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “door.” Write about a door you walked through this week that wasn’t your own. Enjoy!

A door I passed through this week was the door to my classroom. It’s not a particularly snazzy door. In fact, it’s a  fire exit too, with a push handle for easy opening.

We try and make it look interesting by putting posters up on it depicting topics that interest the children. At the moment, dinosaurs grace the bottom half, as that is the part they have to eye level.

I do love that door, as, though it isn’t my own, it takes me into a room that I class as my territory in school. My classroom, my nursery, my domain!

Hope that wasn’t cheating, but there you go!

Catch ya later Peeps!

Happy Saturday Peeps!

February 22 – Flash Fiction – Unicorn

Charli’s prompt this week:

February 22, 2018, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story about a unicorn. It can be realistic or fantastical. Go where the prompt leads.

“A unicorn? You want a unicorn?” Sarah turned from her daughter and looked at her ex-husband, Peter, rolling her eyes. “Honestly, it’s like living with Verruca Salt! She thinks she can demand anything, and that you’ll get it! How are you going to handle this one? They’re not even real!”
She was fed up of her daughter’s unrealistic demands, and the fact that Peter, anxious to score Best Parent points, would always succumb to the demands.
Peter just smiled and said “No problem, my Princess!” and hastily typed Unicorn into the Amazon search bar. Amazon sold everything after all!
