Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 370 – Goodness

img_00411

“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they’ll never sit in.”

Greek proverb

Thanks, Spidey, for such a deep thought to ponder upon, today.

This proverb is so meaningful because it really does take a great person to be so selfless.

Thinking ahead, planting, building, forging relationships. And all for the greater good. Not just for you.

It’s all about immediate satisfaction nowadays.

But what will last and help others too isn’t always something that is a quick fix. It needs nurturing and time.

So, have you ever done something you know you won’t see the benefit of? 💜

#SoCS – April 9, 2022 – How

Linda’s SoCS prompt

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “how.” Use the word “how” in your post. Bonus points if you start your post with it. Enjoy!

How is it that even though I have had a week off and spent the majority of that time in bed, reading or dozing, I am STILL TIRED?

I tell you, Post Covid fatigue is a THING!

I feel like I’m having to explain myself to the rest of the household when I say that I need an afternoon nap, not because I am being a lazy lump. but because I cannot function without it!

Seriously, how do you explain the tiredness to someone who hasn’t experienced it? (And, I mean, I am thankful that none of them succumbed to Covid, but still, a little sympathy, PLEASE!)

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 369 – Rest

img_00411

“Rest when you’re weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your mind, your spirit. Then get back to work.”

Ralph Marston

Thanks, Spidey, you know what im feeling like, right now!

I am absolutely shattered.

It’s been a term that felt six years long!

What with the threat of Ofsted, numerous visitors to school and succumbing to Covid, I feel like the energy has been drained from me.

Running on empty is not a good way to be.

So, thankfully, I have two weeks off, and I intend to fully recharge.

Time to sleep.

Time to read.

Time to rest.

Time to write.

Time for my family.

Time for me.

So, how do you recharge your internal batteries? 💜
