My Symbol Of Letting Go

The wonderful blogger, and someone I am so happy to call a sister, Erika, wrote a post the other day, all about things that were holding us back in life, and then she found a song that was her symbol of letting go of the situation that held her back.

She invited others to do the same, find something to show as a symbol, and letting go of something we also need to, to make life easier.

Here’s mine.

let it golet it go 1

I really need to let go of one thing in my life, and that is my constant need to please everyone else.  Sometimes I run myself ragged, trying to be there for everyone, volunteering to help, or even putting my own little family second, to please someone else.

Well today I am letting go of that feeling.  I will always be the person I am, but I am actually going to put me, and my little family first.  If someone’s nose gets out of joint, I actually don’t care!  I have to do what is best for us, for me, and hey, I’ll fit the others in around us, but no longer will I move us around to make others happy… (unless I want to!)

This is actually going to be really hard for me, as I have always been the one to be there, and I really don’t want to stop totally, but I do feel that I am taken for granted by so many, that maybe this step back will make others realise too….

Thanks Erika, for giving me the inspiration to actually think of letting go… I hope I manage to do it!

Love (and Bloggers! ) Shine A Light

She only went and did it again!

Erika has nominated me, along with 3 other fantastic bloggers, for a brand new award! And I feel humbled, and happy to be nominated for it! It is an award to share appreciation for the bloggers who make our Blogosphere a brighter place.

Guidelines

Acknowledge the person who gifted it to you.

Pass it on to one or two folk of your choice.

If you’re not an awards person then consider it a gift.

Whatever you do … KEEP SHINING.

All done.

And so, I nominate…

Judy of  Edwina’s Episodes

Tom of Cats At The Bar

What is remaining, but for me to say, again, thank you Erika, and to all you bloggers out there, though I can’t nominate you all, keep shining bright everyone! You definitely make my world a brighter place!

Dragon’s Loyalty Award!

I nominated Leanne for this award, and she accepted so graciously, that I have to reblog! She renominates me, and I feel my gratitude for that should be not by rewriting a new acceptance post, but by reblogging this that she wrote, to introduce her blog to a whole new audience! Please check her blog out and give her a follow, she writes an online book, among over things! 😊😊😊

So, the world revolves around you?

selfish 3There are some people in my life who seem to think that the above diagram is true, and the ME in the middle is them.

Well, guess what… I hate to shatter that illusion, but actually, my world most definitely does not revolve around them!

I’m always there, you, my Peeps, know that.  I never step away from helping someone if they need it, but there are some out there who really can’t see beyond their own little life, and when things don’t happen as they wish, then it means that we are the selfish ones!

The other day I was actually reduced to tears by someone who launched a real tirade of insults at me, ending in accusing me of being conniving, or cunning, being just an empty shell of promises, and not actually being sincere.

I think that might have been one of the times I felt the most hurt in my life.  I can’t think of a time I have once gone out there and with every intention, hurt someone.  My actions are always genuine, and hey, I’m human, I make mistakes, sometimes what I say might not be the right thing ( this is when I realise how great hindsight is!) but, never would I be spiteful on purpose.

I actually had to justify my life to this person, and show the way my day actually panned out, so this individual understood that sometimes, I physically don’t have the time to reply straight away to messages, and Shock! Horror! sometimes I even forget to reply! But it’s never on purpose, it’s due to tiredness.

I was still left with a bitter taste in my mouth at the end of the conversation we ended up having by Whatsapp, but I really thing this particular ship has sailed………
