Erika’s Questions for Me
1. When you get stuck in the traffic (no matter what side of the road you are driving 
) how do you react?
It gives me a great excuse to bust some tunes on my stereo, and sing along!
2. What is your favourite time of the day?
I love the early morning, when it’s just me and my kitty, and there is peace and quiet… having said that, I love night too, when I get to go to sleep!
3. What kind of vacation do you like most (adventure, beach, educative…)?
We tend to go on family holidays, and by that I mean going to visit family, nice, but not really a vacation! I much prefer the beach holiday scenario!
4. What is your favorite activity on a sunny Summer day?
Relaxing in the garden, my family playing around me, and me sat with a good book, chilling
5. What is your favorite activity on a cold and snowy Winter day?
Much the sameness, sat wrapped up on the sofa, or in bed, my family around me, watching a film, or reading again!

The Birds And The Bees – Kids Logic Part 39

A few short weeks ago, I wrote a guest post on A Momma’s View, about the impending conversations with Lil Man… Yes that age has now come, where we need to start to think about talking Puberty… and of course the questions will be raised, that lead to the Birds and The Bees!
Well, it’s started! I believe the puberty talk is starting next week, but there have been a few taster sessions already…
He tells me he knows the word ‘vagina, hee hee hee’!
He’s been asking around the family…. Daddy says “Hmmm, the birds and the bees… we’ll chat about that later son!”
He asked one uncle “What are the Birds and The Bees?” He was told “The birds fly, the bees sting, simple!”
The other uncle, my brother said “Ahem, I think that’s a conversation you and your daddy need to have!”
Today, he said to me, “Mummy, why does the Queen call her special jewels, The Crown Jewels, after men’s privates??”
I explained that no, that is a little the wrong way round, and that the Crown Jewels are very precious, and so are a man’s bits… so that is why they are named after the Queen’s jewels, “because, you know, they are an important part of your body, if they got hurt, you might not be able to have children…” Ooops! Why did I say that??!! At this stage, willies are not for baby making, or pleasure of any sort! They are the means to go toilet!
So says Lil Man ” But mummy, that’s silly, what do mans privates have to do with babies? Men don’t have babies!”
Then, not to be left out Lil Princess starts ” Yeah mummy, when I was born, there was no willies, were there?”
I left the room sharpish, time to change the subject and it was bath time.
Lil Man pipes up “The other class were drawing penises and boobies! Hee Hee Hee! And vaginas! You know, that’s like your crown jewels, isn’t it!”
I just tried to ignore the conversation!
Dear God! Help me!!!! this next couple of weeks are going to be fun!!!!!

7 (more) facts about me…
- I really don’t do sports! I come from a very sporty family, my dad played hockey, and was a record holder at his school and university for high jump! My mum loved tennis, and played lacrosse at school. My brother was a cricketer and hockey player for Warwickshire before he got injured, and he still plays cricket in Helsinki! But me, no, the sports interest gene just bypassed me! Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t all that bad at things at school, I had a flair for netball, hockey, tennis and badminton, I love swimming, I just didn’t have the passion for it, like my brother! I had no interest in playing for a team, preferring to curl up with a book!
- I love talking, and talking… I could talk for England, which is why this blog is such a great thing for me! I can virtually blabber on and on, and no one really has to listen, but I have said my piece, so I am happy too!
- I hate arguments. I really can’t sleep on it… I have do sort things out before bedtime. I’d rather do that and start fresh the next day. If things linger for longer than that, it really affects me negatively. You all know my positivity, but if I can’t sort something out with someone, if there is a problem, then it eats away at me until I know things are ok…
- I used to have a pet stick insect! Wow! You say. How interesting! Really? No, it wasn’t interesting at all!
- I am in the midst of an addiction to Thornton’s Special Toffee! Great for my taste buds, not so good for my teeth and waist line!
- I passed my driving test on the 4th go! 2 weeks before I got married… I’m sure the examiner felt sorry for me… I told him how far I was going from my parents, and that the train or coach journey was so bad that having a license and car would be the biggest wedding present for me… and guess what? I passed!
- I have climbed Dunns River Falls in Jamaica! Woohoo! Go Me!!!!!
