Ritu’s Healthy Eating – Week 23 – #icandothis

Another week, another load of lovely meals!

And one morning I made quark pancakes, with bacon and Agave Nectar for breakfast! Yum!

Today, as I weighed in, in the morning, I had a rather heavy lunch of Samosas followed by Indian sweets called Besan, courtesy of some parents at Nursery!

The samosas were from a mum who’s daughter had a birthday. They usually bring sweets in for the other kids, and she brought in homemade, still warm, samosas for the teachers! And another little boy’s mum, just had a baby girl, so the dad brought in the sweets!

I did add fruit as a starter so it wasn’t all naughty!

And today’s result?

Another 1lb down!

But the best thing? Another certificate from Slimming World!

I have lost over 1.5 stone with them so far, and 26.5 lb since the start of my journey in the summer, so I have 1.5lb left until I hit my 2 stone target!!!

I did mention that I wanted to try and start some sort of exercise too, so I could tone up the little apron of skin that is currently being very well hidden around my belly… so next week, on Wednesdays, while to kids are having their dhol lesson, I will be trying out the ladies Bhangra class! It is a beginners one, and yes, I already know how to dance the Bhangra,  but I figured it would be a bit of fun!

So, next week, I will have that to report back on too!!!!!

Well, firstly from a healthy living perspective, may I just wish you all a healthy, happy new year!!!

Since I last updated you we have entered a new year, 2017! May it be a great one for us all!

So, I have had a varied week, being back at school.

I have had a few days of being REALLY good, some days of being really naughty… how will it pan out?

I even ate a Nandos, and due to visitors coming, I succumbed to a samosa and pakoda!

The rest of the week…

But sadly, I had to say goodbye to my new FitBit also, after getting another allergic reaction to it… BooHoo! I loved that gadget!

Well, being back at school, in the cold, means a lot of running around. I am avoiding all the excess Christmas chocolates and biscuits that are creeping into the staffroom, donated by all those teachers who were very appreciative of all the chocolate gifts, but couldn’t possibly eat them all! Being in Nursery means I spend very little time there, but on a Tuesday morning, I have planning time, and this week… a packet of biscuits, a multipack of crisps, and Pringles were staring at me… I was really good, and only after sitting near them for 2 hours, did I succumb to one biscuit!20170103_105700

So… how has all this affected my first weigh in of 2017?

Well…

I lost 1lb!

20.5lb with Slimming World, and since I started, 25.5lb!!! I only need to lose 2.5lb more to hit that goal of mine, losing 2 stone, that I foolishly made at the beginning of August, never thinking it could happen… but it could!

Ooooh!

So, to celebrate, we had a Chinese takeaway, no holds barred, as Hubby Dearest thinks I don’t eat ‘normal’ food anymore lol!

Oh, well, each to their own, eh! At least our household takeaways have really cut down!

Now I am off to worry about the syns I consumed tonight, lol!

Well now, Christmas week has been and gone…

Did you have a good one??

It’s been a busy week, what with Christmas, then visiting other family. Healthy eating more or less went out of the window! And there was also a little Prosecco consumption on Christmas day too… oops!

Other food over the week…

Yes, there were a few pastries, and chocolates consumed! But I managed a few clean meals in between!

And the results of the weigh in today?

Maintained the same weight again!

Now off to finish a few more posts, and possibly nibble chocolate… because it has to be done!

Ritu’s Healthy Eating – Week 19 – #icandothis

Another week… will it be another lb?

The countdown to Christmas is on… there have been lots of naughty things being baked/consumed, but hey, it IS Christmas, Syns forgiven, and all that!

So that’s Nutella Tree, Chocolate Croissants, and homemade chocolate dipped cookies… Oops!

And not including the School Christmas Lunch we had, Turkey with all the trimmings… the first of several which I’ll be consuming over the next couple of weeks!

But I was good too!

And how did I do when I stepped on those scales? My only wish was that I had at least maintained last week’s weight… it was inevitable, though, a gain was due…

And I actually lost 0.5lb!

Surprised was not the word!

So that is 19.5lb of on Slimming World, and 24.5lb in total since I began this journey!

I have nibbled on several treats all day… they are everywhere and it is far too tempting!

This week, my in-laws will be back from the Motherland too, so hopefully it won’t end up being me eating a lot of lovely home cooked meals, that aren’t exactly SW friendly!

And it is our staff Christmas party on Wednesday… I can’t guarantee a result like this week, but I can at least try to be good!

Another week of naughty but nice things!

My parents were here last week, so we had pizza on Friday night, and a luscious Indian meal out on the Saturday night… and did I mention the Krispy Kreme donuts?

I was definitely not on for a loss this week! The best I could expect was to maintain my weight!

I decided to attempt to do a couple of SP Extra Easy days. For those of you who aren’t on the Slimming World plan, this is basically when you strip back your eating to a lot of ‘free’ foods that are filling, but low calorie. This meant no stodgy carbs, and certain fruit and veg, and yoghurts, were out of the picture.

And it obviously did the job…

I stood on the scales today and this happened!

1lb down!

So that is 19lbs off with Slimming World and 24lbs in total!

Well, I wasn’t expecting that!!!!!

Today I have celebrated with a KFC Ricebox which was 10.5 syns. (I am allowed up to 15 so that isn’t bad!)
