#SoCS August 11/18 – Bodily Functions

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “bodily function.” Decide on one or write about a whole bunch of bodily functions. Bonus inspiration: here’s a website. Enjoy!

An Ode to all things Lavatorial
Our body does the strangest things
Sometimes it sleeps, sometimes it sings
By singing, I mean parping
Or slightly ruder, farting
It’s one of the things we have to do
Like eating and then going for a poo
And all the things that you drink
Wee wee time, another toilet link!
It’s not all lavatorial though
We have to sneeze and burp, you know
But there are times a burp can lead
You to the loo again indeed
Because you may feel the urge
The contents of your stomach to purge
And vomiting can come hand in hand
With that other function needing the pan
For if you’ve ever suffered D and V
You’ll be pooping constantly!

#SoCS August 4/18 – Call

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “call.” Use the word “call” or any word that contains those letters in that order. Have fun!

Call Me Maybe.

I have to say that even though it is a real teeny bopper song, I actually really enjoy listening to it, and dancing to it on Just Dance on my Wii!

I have the moves down to a fine art and can get almost full points, to the chagrin of Lil Princess, who hasn’t quite got the knack of flicking your wrists a certain way, sl the remote registers.

Actually, I can cheat.

I can do it all sitting down and just move the control in the right directions!

But I don’t.

Not often.

I’m not that bad a mum that I have to beat the kids at everything! (Just sometimes!)

Another one written from a very tired mind at 23.07pm on Friday night, ready for the morning!

Mum arrived back from Finland this morning and been helping her settle back into routines too, but it’s funny, that overwhelming tiredness hit now, as if my whole soul is relieved that mum is home now!

One more night with my parents then I have to head back home to my own realities!

#SoCS July 28/18 – Tee, Tea T

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “T, tea, tee.” Theme your post around “tea” or “tee,” or find a word that starts with “T” and talk about that. Bonus points if you manage to incorporate all three. Enjoy!

Today I forfeited my morning cup of tea. It was just too stifling to sip a hot beverage, in temperatures nearing the 30’s at 8am…

I rumaged through my wardrobe to find something suitable to wear. It was going to be a long day, driving back up to Brum with my children in the car…

After the shennanigans of the last trip (5 hours for a 3 hour journey) I was not looking forward to it. They had argued the whole way there…

Then I came up with a plan (read bribery!) We are with my Pops for 10 days at least, so I made them a deal. If they could cope with being together, no full on arguments and rows, no whining (Lil Princess) or winding the other up (Lil Man) then I would log £2 against their name. If we get home and they managed a whole TEN days without bloodshed, they’d have earned £20! At the time of writing this we have managed a day and they have really controlled themselves… how long will that last?

Back to the suitable clothing… I tried on a tee-shirt but even that felt too sticky on my body. A shower felt pointless as I was glistening (Ladylike way of saying sweating like a P-I-G!) within moments of getting out. Then I remembered my lovely tie-dyed swing dresses… Oh they feel so good in this weather! I have around five of them, picked up from a great cheap shop here by my parents place!

And boy was I glad that was what I wore, because it did indeed take up another FIVE HOURS, sitting in a car with AC that is helpfully NOT WORKING!

Tea-riffic! Temperatures Tee-tering Towards Top Thirties Throughout!

#SoCS July 21/18 – Organ

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “organ.” Talk about an organ or base your post on the theme of them … or one. Have fun!

Organ grinder,
Won’t you stop
I feel that I’m
About to pop
The kids are tired,
The teachers too
So little time,
So much to do
A year’s gone by
We worked so hard
I’m so burned out
My body feels charred
Exhaustipated
From bottom to top
So Organ grinder, please…
Just stop!

Ritu 2018

Penned this morning by a very tired teacher… two days to crawl through!

  • Exhaustipated, for those of you that don’t know – so tired I don’t give a sh*t!

#SoCS July 14/18 – Sup

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “3-letter word.” Start your post with any 3-letter word. Bonus points if you end with one too. Enjoy!

Can you believe it’s almost the end of another academic year?

It’s flown by.

I’ve experienced the craziness of teaching in two classes every week, being a Governor, and heading the School Council.

I was certainly busy enough for it to feel like it just whizzed by.

But it definitely wasn’t easy.

Being in one class means you build a rapport with your children.

You really get to know them.

Being in two means you feel neither here nor there.

Yet you are still responsible for the progress they make.

Being a Governor gives you a real insight into the managing of a school, realising why decisions are made, which, as your average staff member, sometimes seem pointless.

Being the School Council lead means I am able help foster a sense of pride in the children about the school they attend. It has been fun, and I wish I had more time to actually do stuff with them!

There are still a few home visits to attend to for next year. There is a little preparation to do to enable us to be ready for the new intake.

Final reports and assemblies, old staff leaving and preparing to welcome the new.

But now, the year comes to a close.

Then this chapter comes to an end
