“When someone says “You’ve changed”, it simply means you’ve stopped living life their way.” – Unknown
Spidey and I don’t fear change. He, after all changes regularly, to a form that is not usual for the rest of us. But that is a little extreme!
The thing is, for the best part, we tend to live our lives, carve out habits that are instilled into us by the folk around us. Sometimes it takes us growing up, and finding our own beliefs and thoughts, to realise that what we are doing is not what we really want, but just what society dictates that we do.
If we are strong enough to make a change, be it turn to vegetarianism, take our faith more seriously or even standing up for ourselves, there will always be someone who it rankles against.
And it is not because we are doing anything wrong, it is because those we used to ‘follow’ are unfamiliar with the direction we have taken.
Don’t let this stop you from taking independent steps though. Our thoughts on this are that you listen to others to get opinions. Sometimes we all make mistakes in decisions we make, but, unless there is a good reason, stand by what you believe.
Be yourself, and be happy.
It takes all sorts to make this a wonderful world to live in. Life would be boring if we were all exactly the same.
“Love your family more than your possessions, money, career or hobbies. That other stuff can’t love you back! – Dave Willis
Spidey felt we had to mention family today, seeing as I am travelling back to my parents for a few days, as I usually do in the holidays.
You know me.
My family truly mean everything to me and I would give anything to make sure they are happy.
My parents are my rocks. They are there, no matter what. I dread the thought of them not being there, even though I know it is inevitable…
My Brother and his little family, though far away, are always in our thoughts. We message, and Skype regularly, so the children, my two, and his little monkey, have that sense of family.
Then my own little family, my Hubby Dearest, Lil Man, Lil Princess and Furbaby, Sonu Singh occupy a huge chunk of my heart. They will always be the most important people in my life.
So I am off to enjoy time with my Pops and Mum, and to give Hubby Dearest time to miss me (absence makes the heart grow fonder, apparently!) and the kids!
Enjoy your Sunday Peeps, and your week ahead. Remember to give that little bit extra time to your wonderful families!
“Man is born from a woman: Within woman, man is conceived: To a woman he is engaged and married. Man is friends with woman: Through woman, the future generations exist. When his woman passes away, he seeks another woman: To a woman, a man is bound. So why call her bad? From her kings are born, from a woman, woman is born: Without woman there would be no one at all.” – Guru Granth Sahib Ji
For that special woman in our lives, our mother.
Happy Mothers Day ❤
A Shabad Simran sung by a young girl today. This is the daughter of a man called Dya Singh from Australia. He travelled the word with his three daughters and used music to teach about Sikhi to the world. He created a beautiful CD especially for children, a mix of English and Punjabi, which my own children loved!
He incorporates traditional Indian instruments, the electric guitar and even the didgeridoo in his music too, to create a truly universal sound!
“Hey, Soul; Your only support is the Naam, the Name of the Lord.” Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji
Carrying on from last week, I felt a spiritual pull towards this Shabad, or hymn that is sung by an amazing artist, Manika Kaur. I have tried to find the lyrics and translation for you too. Her voice is amazing.

Today Spidey will quote a fellow blogger, who commented on last week’s post. We both loved the words, and felt they needed sharing!
“Love lasts many seasons and can last a lifetime if you tend its garden.” Tony Burgess
True love is not effortless. In order for it to last, you both need to put in the time and effort to keep it going.
It is ever changing, blossoming in different ways at each stage.
Each stage requires a different form of nurturing.
Love evolves when you’re with ‘The One’. Its face changes, your feelings morph, but as long as you are willing to move with it, change it, tend it, as Tony says, it will last a lifetime.
