School Days, Reminiscences of Ritu Bhathal

Please join me, over at Norah’s blog today, talking about my school reminiscences!

Welcome to the School Days, Reminiscences series in which my champion bloggers and authors share reminiscences of their school days. It’s my small way of thanking them for their support and of letting you know about their services and publications.

This week, I am delighted to introduce Ritu Bhathal, author, poet, blogger, teacher. Ritu and I follow a similar group of bloggers. We seem to pop up alongside each other, commenting on a number of blogs and writing flash fiction at the Carrot Ranch where Ritu’s contribution is often poetic. I think that we are both teachers, have a love of children and learning, and similar views about education draws us together. Ritu decided she wanted to be a teacher at an even younger age than I did. Teaching (and writing) was our destiny. If you haven’t yet met Ritu, I’m sure you’ll be pleased to do so now.

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 225

“Expect nothing, and appreciate everything”

Anon

Thank you for that, Spidey.

I post this quote as a beginning to my eventual post about the Bloggers Bash.

I did indeed go, piled up with cake, and Hoppalong Hubby in tow, with no expectations, other than to meet with old friends, and mingle with new.

I managed to achieve that, but on top of that, I was gobsmacked, absolutely lost for words, to find out that I won the Best Book Blog award!

Now, those of you who have been following me for a while, know that I was surprised to be nominated, but grateful… and with a HUGE list of blogs on the nominated pile, I didn;t think I stood a chance… but somehow, I did it!

Or rather, you did it. Because without the votes from you, my blogily, I would have never got anywhere!

So thank YOU!

This one’s for you! I appreciate each and every one of you out there who took the time to vote, and those of you who support this little space in the Blogosphere by reading, liking and commenting on my posts.

So… tell me when life managed to totally exceed your expectations?

#SoCS June 15/19

Linda’s #SoCS Prompt for this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “social.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Well, this is just an ideal prompt for me today!

As you read this, or maybe a little after you do, I shall be being very social…

It is the Annual Bloggers Bash today and, as every year, I am so excited to be able to meet all the wonderful bloggers and writers that I have befriended over the internet.

Yes, there are awards too, but that is not the biggest thing for me. What means the most, is that I get to talk to like minded individuals; share jokes, advice, and cake!

So, forgive me if this is brief, but for a change I am being social in reality not on Social Media!

June 13: Flash Fiction Challenge – Many Hands

Charli’s Carrot Ranch prompt:

June 13, 2019, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story about the work of many hands. Is it a cooperative effort or something else? Go where the prompt leads!

Many Hands Make Light Work

Too many cooks spoil the broth, they say
But I would like to differ, that is, if I may
For another common saying does lurk
Many hands, indeed, do make light work
Surely, it is better
To work together
To achieve our goal
As one big whole
Rather than trying to be the one
Who is named for always getting things done
Do not always try to stake your claim
Yet shy away from taking blame
Working as a team is best
You can always rely on the rest
And what can take an hour,
In minutes, you’ll devour
