Well look at that! January is here, and Linda’s Just Jot It January or #JosJoJan is back!
I’m going to try to write on each of the prompts!

Yup, the prompt today, brought by lil old me!
Oh my, the histrionics of the last two weeks… I could bore you senseless with the dramas in my life, but they are too personal so I shall refrain!
Instead, a little acrostic poem dedicated to my daughter Lil Princess, who is permanently attached to a phone, recording pretend YouTube videos or Musical.ly clips! Rather funny to watch, but at 9, we have said no sharing!!!
D- Deep rooted emotions

Firstly, let me just say
Another new year is upon us!
What will this chapter bring into our lives?
I mentioned in my post yesterday, about plans for my blog this year…
I had a wonderfully creative year last year with my WIP and my blog, and I hope to continue that this year.
But… there’s always a but… things have to evolve over time.
My work life is crazy busy, what with teaching two classes and being a Governor too, my family is growing older and requiring more attention in different ways, my Hubby Dearest would love a little more of my time…
So real life gets in the way.
Don’t worry… I’m not going anywhere.
I tried that before, enforced blog breaks… they last all of a day for me! And to be honest, writing posts, and reading yours, that is my chill out time!
No.
What I have decided is that I will take the pressure off myself.
I am used to forcing targets upon myself that cause undue stress (sound familiar, anyone?). I do it in all aspects of my life.
So, to do try and do this, I am not committing to posting every day, like I did last year.
I will post regularly – because I can’t keep away – and take part in the prompt challenges when they occur – but, and it’s a big BUT – I won’t beat myself up if I miss one.
I’ll be there reading your posts and be commenting, but again, if I am not able to visit everyone, every day, I won’t feel guilty. I know you are all human, and you understand, but still, as it stands, if I follow you, I don’t want to miss your words. And if there isn’t that acknowledgement on your post that I have been, either by comment or like, I feel bad.
I do have an idea for a regular feature… but it’s still that, an idea, at the moment!
Spidey will definitely still be around every Sunday – How can he not be??!!
And, the biggie… I need to FINISH this dang WIP!!!! It is so close to the end but I am so tired by the end of the day I can’t get my head into gear!
So, the hope is that I continue to be here, as a blogger (but not flooding your readers or inboxes with posts!) and that I finish my WIP, and maybe, just maybe, have a published book by the end of the year!!!!!!!
And I am sooooo looking forward to May 19th – no no the Royal Wedding, exciting as it may be – but the Annual Bloggers Bash!!!! The ABBA’s have been a huge part of my life over the last 2 years and as I get ready to attend the third, I hope it will be something I attend for many years to come!!!!
So, let me wish you a most excellent 2018 once again!

Thanks Spidey for that inspirational quote for the New Year.
I just love the idea of ‘carving out’ some moments to sit ‘pen in hand’ to dream!
As a writer, this speaks volumes.
But for all of us, it should be a part of the day.
Tomorrow we will start our new year, and there will be resolutions abounding.
From the health-based ones to the weight loss ones, the self-improvement promises to the bucket list items you want to tick off, the things you are going to stop and those you plan to take up.
We all have dreams and wishes.
And to be honest, only we can make these resolutions, dreams and wishes come true.
If you hope and dream, then take the initiative to actually start your journey to reaching your goal.
Reflect upon what you have achieved so far, and plan where you want to be this time next year.
Along the way, others will support you, but no one else can actually write that book/lose that weight/complete that course/stop that drink from being drunk/(insert any of the things you wish to accomplish).
Only you.
So go on, and really focus on what you want – and GO GET EM!

Well… what a year!
Blogging-wise, I have had a totally EPIC year!
As I write this post, the stats tell me I have;
Er, WOW!
Challenges;
Then Spidey has played a part each and every Sunday – finding me amazingly inspirational quotes to share and discuss with you all.
I started my year deciding to take part in Linda G. Hill’s #JusJoJan, where she provided us with prompts (actually we provided her with prompts to them provide to the rest!) for each day in January.
I enjoyed the daily post so much that I set up my own month of posts for February, entitled #Lovuary.
This ended and March arrived with another idea…#MusicalMarch!
After three months of posting each day, I made a silent pact to myself… I would try to post something
That was sometimes a bit of a struggle, but I managed it! And I was inspired by Lucy of Blonde Write More, who did this a couple of years ago. I was in awe of her!
Hearing everyone writing about #NaNoWriMo made me think. That age-old WIP was gathering dust and I wanted to do something about it. November is not a good month for me, work-wise so I devised my own month of creative writing – #RiNoWriMo – in August – a time when I could devote a few hours a day to writing – and I managed to write over 50,000 more words! It’s still not finished… but getting there!
I have been a member of a fantastic group on Facebook, started by the amazing Suzie of Suzie Speaks. It’s called Big Up Your Blog, and has helped me engage with [even] more bloggers and allowed my posts to be shared across so many more social media platforms…
I should also mention here bloggers who have been epic at sharing more or less all my posts since they followed me! Steven, of The Militant Negro, Michael, of Die Erste Eslarner Zeitung, and Robbie of Robbie’s Inspiration.
I was even interviewed on radio by the most amazing blogger and creative poet, Annette Rochelle Aben. It’s the most wonderful experience to talk to someone you have been following for a long while – the connection was immediate!
A HUGE achievement for me has to be what happened in June… at the Annual Bloggers Bash.
There I was, quietly baking away, to bring some nibbles to the event, enjoying the anticipation of getting to meet some wonderful members of my Blogily, when the awards were announced, and I was voted Best Overall Blogger!!!!!!
Now I am looking forward to the 4th Annual Bash… tickets already paid for! May 19th – if you are interested!!!
