A Doorway Forgotten By all the world An entrance, sealed shut Waiting to be opened To share the beauty within A garden befitting the Gods Filled with huge trees, shrubs and rainbow blooms Allowed to grow, as Nature intended
Colleen’s back finally with her first Synonym challenge in nearly 2 months! Of course, just providing a couple of words would be far too simple, so we have two words, yes, but we can’t use them! Only synonyms allowed!
At The start Of the year All I wanted Was peace and quiet They listened and left me At first, I revelled in it Then the loneliness slowly came The silence ate away at my mind I begged them to come back, but no one came
My Darkened Mind gazes Outside to light Slowly the haze lifts Ideas begin to Gather within my thoughts and My fingers itch to write them down Transitioning from pure writers block To a well of sheer creativity
Another poem inspired by Lucy of Blonde Write More! Designing covers is a tough one.
Covering Covers
Book Covers Are daunting Who should design? Professionally Or try your hand at it? Stock photos or take your own? Images or illustrations? Which font to use? Is a tag line key? Author name - big or small? Top or bottom? Oh my goodness, that's just the front cover The back has got as much to debate! What really needs to be on there? Just the blurb or something more? Does it need my photo? Keep it plain or not? Will it engage? What to do? Oh, God! Blurb!
Lay Me to Rest just here Among the trees Just beneath their shade Let me take my last breaths Inhaling nature's beauty So that I may take some with me To my body's next destination A part of this world forever with me
