” A negative mind will never give you a positive life” – Anon

Something to ponder upon, thanks Spidey!

I wholeheartedly believe this quote!

Sure, bad things happen to the world.

Bad things happen to us all.

But how we deal with them is what creates a positive or negative influence over our lives.

We can choose to wallow in the awfullness of a situation, feeling sorry for ourselves.

Great!

But what does that achieve?

You end up colouring everything around you with that darkness.

Though if you search for the good that may have come out of the situation, the silver lining, so to speak, automatically, you will start to feel brighter about things.

Life doesn’t look so gloomy after all!

Optimism isn’t a bad thing at all.

Of course, no one want’s someone jumping around like an overenthusiastic puppy 24 hours a day, but if you can keep your positivity inside yourself, it helps view life in a different way. Not rose coloured glasses, but with the filter of hope instead, knowing that even though things aren’t necessarily going your way, they can only get better.

Stey positive Peeps and enjoy your Sunday !!!!!

Tell me something you have managed to turn around, by using a positive outlook instead?

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 150 – #NewYear

“New Year’s Day. A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery. Today carve out a quiet interlude for yourself in which to dream, pen in hand. Only dreams give birth to change.” – Sarah Ban Breathnach

Thanks Spidey for that inspirational quote for the New Year.

I just love the idea of ‘carving out’ some moments to sit ‘pen in hand’ to dream!

As a writer, this speaks volumes.

But for all of us, it should be a part of the day.

Tomorrow we will start our new year, and there will be resolutions abounding.

From the health-based ones to the weight loss ones, the self-improvement promises to the bucket list items you want to tick off, the things you are going to stop and those you plan to take up.

We all have dreams and wishes.

And to be honest, only we can make these resolutions, dreams and wishes come true.

If you hope and dream, then take the initiative to actually start your journey to reaching your goal.

Reflect upon what you have achieved so far, and plan where you want to be this time next year.

Along the way, others will support you, but no one else can actually write that book/lose that weight/complete that course/stop that drink from being drunk/(insert any of the things you wish to accomplish).

Only you.

So go on, and really focus on what you want – and GO GET EM!

Enjoy your New Year’s Eve Sunday Peeps!!!!!

What are you hoping the New Year will help you to achieve?

“Peace on earth will come to stay, when we live Christmas every day.” –  Helen Steiner Rice

What a lovely thought Spidey!

Christmas every day!

It’s true though, isn’t it, we spread ‘peace on earth and goodwill to all men’ around the festive period, then it all disappears…

If we were to keep that thought as a constant, all year round, wouldn’t our world be a more wonderful place to live?

I’ll leave you with that, and get off to start some preparations for tomorrow’s dinner now!

Enjoy your Christmas Eve Sunday Peeps!!!!!

A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor’s book.  ~Irish Proverb

I write this with a streaming nose and a hope that I shall be better before I go back to school tomorrow!

Thanks Spidey for making me realise I need to have a good rest, as well as the laughs that are always coming my way via my family, pupils and friends!

It is true though. Laughter is the best medicine, they say, and I agree. A giggle makes the worst situation seem manageable.

And if all else fails – sleep, and things seem better when you wake up!

I’m back off to bed now!!!!

Enjoy your Sunday Peeps!!!!!

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” – Charles.R.Swindoll

A timely reminder here Spidey, thank you for that!

This is a statement filled with truth.

Everything is about perspective really, isn’t it?

Things happen, the same things happen, to many people, yet the outcomes of those events vary greatly from individual to individual.

And it is largely because of your reactions to said events.

Everyone is faced with difficult situations at some time or another, and how you react to them colours the path of your life.

It’s sometimes easier to automatically have negative thoughts when something unexpected happens, and then the world picks up on that.

Whereas if you try to see the silver lining, and pick the positives, it can really help to make your life smoother.

And, hard as it may be, it is important to wait before reacting… an automatic reaction, where words are said, or rash decisions are made, cannot be undone, whereas a moment’s thought, to put things into perspective, could be the difference between a tougher existence, or a smooth road, with just a couple of inclines.

I have one piece of advice which I am regularly doling out to my nearly teenage son…

Always think about the reaction before you action.

Basically, think before you speak or act.

The amount of times I have to say it to him, (he’s a tween… of course he doesn’t listen to his mum!) or remind him, when he’s getting frustrated by things, be it homework, or an altercation with his sister!

But if he thought that the reaction to him screwing up his homework because he couldn’t do it, would mean that he would have to do the whole thing again, maybe he’d think twice about being so rash, and ask for help.

Or if he realised that the reaction to him choosing to wind his sister up unnecessarily and repeatedly, would be that his phone is confiscated, maybe he’d refrain from doing so…

And now, I am starting to repeat the same phrase to my dear 9-year-old daughter who thinks she is a teen!

Right, now I am off to hopefully not react to anything, and to have a really lazy Sunday!

Enjoy, Peeps!!!!!
