This week’s prompt is to write about the badly timed trump!!

So… here goes…

She could feel the pressure building.

The music was loud. Surely letting one go wouldn’t hurt…

They slipped out to the beat of Beyonce’s latest release.

Relief.

Last one.

Out it came, loud and proud, as the dj faded the tune out so the Groom, her new husband, could start his speech.

There you go Sacha!!!!

And Sacha Black’s #Writespiration prompt.

So without further ado, the first writespiration of 2017, 52 words exactly and you need to include the phrase…

The timer started

So, here goes…!

The timer started.

She looked ahead.

A clear path.

She looked back

No one near.

Then she began.

Ran like lightning.

The goal tangible.

This was it.

Gold was hers.

A car driving past woke her from her daydream.

Looking up, all she saw was the country road stretched out in front…

Connections

wp-1483271687117.png

It’s easy to stay connected nowadays, isn’t it?

What with everyone cradling a mobile phone, you are always a mere message away from connecting with someone.

And with all the different versions of social media out there, Facebook, WhatsApp, Skype, Twitter, Instagram etc. it is even easier.

Heck, you can connect with whoever you want to, whether it is by just following and liking a celebrity’s photos, or by commenting on blog posts!

Then you have all these new-fangled ways to make ‘love connections’; Tinder, Grindr and all these kinds of apps. They are a bit beyond me, I went the old skool way of actually meeting a person, not using photos to reel my man in!

But with the ease by which we can maintain these connections, though very accessible, are they real?

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love interacting with family, friends and Blogily on all these various mediums. I’d be the last person to say they shouldn’t exist!

But what about old fashioned connections?

What about actually getting off our phones, off our arses, and going to meet people? Or what about actually using our phones to shock, horror, speak to someone, rather than sending messages, or forwarding chain mail?

In my eyes, nothing beats the physical sensation of meeting someone, face to face, and being able to engulf someone, or be engulfed in a huge hug!

That is the way I felt last June when we all met up for the Annual Bloggers Bash Awards, take 2!

My life in the blogosphere started in November 2015, and slowly, I built up an amazing collective of bloggers, who I like to affectionately call my Blogily. We interacted on a weekly, if not daily, basis and these names became part of my everyday life.

For a non-blogger, understanding the importance of these folk would be hard. In fact, even though I kinda knew what my blogily meant to me, I sometimes found it tough to comprehend exactly how these virtual strangers had come to mean so much.

But that day in June, finally seeing so many faces, in the flesh, not just that Gravatar photo, was truly amazing!

As I hugged my way across the room, each person became more real. And not only were old connections reinforced, but new ones were established too.

It was a wonderful day!

Let us all connect
In every way possible
Join lives together
We are all of one planet
Let us be of one soul too

WRITE A FAIRYTALE SET HERE – WRITESPIRATION #96

Sacha’s back with a new Writespiration prompt!

This week your task is to write a fairytale, or a part of one, or a fairytale poem set in the photo. Maybe it’s a nightmare tale, or perhaps a happily ever after ending, or maybe a prince’s love monologue. Write a fairytale in less than 200 words. Leave it in the comments or use a pingback so I find it. Due by 23rd October.

Ok, so I’m not sure this was exactly what you wanted… but here goes!

Candicella – The Party Princess

Candicella looked up. Surely her Prince would arrive soon!

She had been trapped in this woods, where the rave was being held, for the last 2 hours.

Faithfully, she had dressed up in what her Fairy Godmother had assured her were the latest ‘threads’, but looking around her, she realised that old Betty had not quite got it right.  She really needed hot pants and a cropped top! The sneakers were a lovely shade of green though.

She sat admiring them, then winced in pain. Trying to join in with the other party animals had been rather more strenuous than she had remembered from her ‘ball-going’ days, and had resulted in a twisted knee.

Hearing a twig crack as someone stepped on it, she turned.

“Oh thank goodness you’re here!”

In all his princely regalia, Prince Dwayne looked rather out of place, but he valiantly stepped up to his regal duty, to rescue the Princess, again.

Scooping her up in his arms, he teetered slightly, but righted himself, and carried Candicella back to the waiting carriage.

“My dear,” he said as he glanced down at her footwear, “I can see why you needed rescuing…glass slippers are much more ‘you!”

WRITESPIRATION #95 KALEIDOSCOPES

Sacha’s back, after a little #Writespiration hiatus, with another cool prompt!

kaleidoscope

Write about a Kaleidoscope – maybe its a kaleidoscopic fantasy world, or a memory, a maze or perhaps a toy. Let your mind wander and see where it takes you. Entries short this week – under 100 words, deadline 9th October. Post entries in the comments or use a pingback.

So, here is my entry!

“Quick Cap’n! They be gaining on us!”

Captain John Bird hurriedly fished his spyglass out of his pocket to see what this vessel was that chasing them.

“It looks like they’re preparing the cannon, and, that be a pirate flag on their mast!”

Focussing the glass, Captain Bird looked out, but all he could see was a rainbow of colours, no ship.

“Damn this thing!” he thought, pulling his handkerchief out to clean the lens.

It was only then that he realised, in the hurry to board his ship, he’d picked up his son’s kaleidoscope instead of his spyglass…

Thank you and Good night!
